Excellent location near train and downtown center. Walkable to everything and easy access into the hotel, which is on the 2nd floor only. Rooms were giant. Limited breakfast options but not bad.

Hotel La Scala was great. An older Italian building with a cool metal gate inside the main door really makes it feel like Italy. The walls are thin and during the day you can hear the chatter from the dining area but it’s honestly not bad cause you’ll be up and out in Florence. The staff was amazing and friendly, you have a kettle and amenities in your room, the shower set up is a bit weird with the billable glass walls but it’s fine. The breakfast every morning is included and is great. Cooked fresh and the staff who make it are very friendly. The location is great, walkable anywhere you need to go and close to the train station. I stayed here 3 nights and would highly recommend it.

Close to train able to walk in a few minutes. Busy street quaint with many restaurants. Small hotel with 10 rooms on 3 rd floor of a building. Blends in with the facade of nearby stores and places to stay.

We chose Hotel la Scala based on its proximity to the train station. In that, it does not disappoint. Location is wonderful! It is a busy street and we found that it was a rather noisy stay, which came from the road outside our window. The accomodations were comfortable. The complimentary bottles of water and breakfast was much appreciated! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for those looking for a comfortable stay near the train station.

This was great for a family of 4. Breakfast was fresh, lots of choice and as much as you wanted. The room was clean and spacious, nice view to Florence houses around. Convenient to the train station and sights.

Cons: We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The first time we saw the room was immediately a disappointment, is nothing close to what the pictures show. The room was very small, no natural light, no opportunity to open the outside window. In terms of cleanliness was poor, the smell to detergent, cleaning products and deodorant spray was unbelievable. Our nose started hurting after 5 minutes of being in the room. We asked the manager to look after this and their answer was “I can’t do anything, sorry”. That is no the customer service we expect at a hotel. Be careful about bringing tons of luggage, the property has an elevator but is tiny and very slow, probably you’ll need to take the stairs always. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families. Just solo travelers and couples. Pros: Good area, close to restaurants, coffee shops, main attractions of the city and the train station.

Everything was great especially with Sherry and the other young lady at breakfast. But the elevator being broken didn’t help my 82-yr old father when going up to the 2nd floor.

One of our favorite stays in Italy! Staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Location is very convenient: 7 minutes' walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station, 3 minutes from Piazza di Santa Maria Novella, 10 minutes from Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore/Brunelleschi's Dome. Included breakfast is promptly cooked to order with a wide range of options such as fried/scrambled eggs, Italian charcuterie, breads, cornetto, fruits, cappuccino, etc. Room was clean, comfortable and charming, with fresco ceiling, mini fridge, water kettle, coffee maker. Bathroom was clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

A beautiful historic building transferred into a small hotel, where the staff are personable and facilities, while a bit different are wonderful to be part of in this city. The hotel manager, Medi was exceptional, friendly and knowledgeable - a rare find in a bustling city
