This was a great base for exploring San Sebastian. It's just a couple of minutes from the old town, the beach and Downtown. The staff were helpful and the room was well-equipped and comfortable. The only slight downside was that clearly a child lives above and with the hard wood floors, I could hear them running up and down - not a big problem as they went to bed early!

Booked for 3 nights, left after 2. Can hear everything going on in other rooms, and I mean everything!

The Pension Urkia is in an excellent location: it is walking distance to the beach, shopping, bars and restaurants. Our balcony had a wonderful view of the street. The bed was a bit firm, but everything else was pleasant.

Everything was fine except for the fact the noise was unreal. All night long banging of doors. Every morning at 7 AM there is a school below you and the talking begins every day. So loud that you could hear them inside your room with windows closed and music playing. A solid night sleep was impossible there. I almost went crazy. Only book if you are there for one night only

great place. We had room 1 on the first floor, and it was wonderful. Comfortable bed, a balcony overlooking the street, compact but good bathroom with plenty of warm water. The location couldn't be better. Literally steps from the boardwalk to the beach and three minutes walking to old town. Juan Mari has created his own food map of the area (excellent) and is an unabashed fan of his city. Across the street is a grocery store which is really helpful. Nothing was more than a fifteen minute walk from the room, most everything was much closer.

Location is close to the old town, but very busy. Room we had was fronting busy Main Street & was noisy.

We stay in this place just one week. It’s perfect location in center of city. 5 minutes walk to any attractions like to the beach and old city. 10 minutes to train and bus station. So many coffee shops and restaurants around. To close to shopping mall and others stores. Room is small, but very cute and clean, perfect for two persons. Staff have some problem with English, but very friendly and tried to help.

Great location, very friendly and accommodating host with great recommendations of places to visit for pintxos. Found the room a little tight for space and the noise travelled down from upstairs and from the room next door but neither went late. The double glazed doors cut the street noise completely which was great, but a bit hot without air conditioning, which I didn’t realise we wouldn’t have in the room when I booked, which is my oversight.

Great location very close to La Concha beach, 10 minutes’ walk from the train / bus station and within easy walking distance of the bars and restaurants of the Old Town, without the noise of being right in the middle of it. My room, and the pension as a whole, were nicely equipped and decorated and spotlessly clean. Staff were helpful and efficient, check-in and check-out were very easy.
