The hotel has very historical feeling decoration. The room is clean and with nice castle view. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is nice. The only downside is that at night, our room on the 3rd floor was a bit cold. It would be no problem for warmer days.

The hotel manager and staff are first class. Very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was enough to feed a village and very tasty. Location was close to all the highlights of the town. Our room was large and spotless. Thank you to all making our stay very enjoyable

Great location and one of the nicest hotels we stayed at in Albania! Room was spacious and bathroom finishings were all new. Slight disappointment that they don't turn the espresso machine on until after breakfast (pretty bad coffee), but the breakfast itself makes up for this shortcoming.

Well located near the bazaar. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and air conditioned. Wonderful views of the mountains at breakfast on the terrace. Bar does a nice range of drinks which can also be delivered to your room.

Lovely place to stay and well situated for the Castle and village Friendly helpful happy staff Tricky to find up narrow cobbled streets but fabulous views once at the hotel Parking was available at front of hotel Beautiful room very clean and comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful wooden ceilings Good air con. No lift so beware if on top floor! Breakfast was served at the table with choice of eggs. Would definitely recommend this hotel

We booked 2 nights, liked it so much, added a 3rd. The hotel is right where the most scenic part of Old Town begins, and has all the charm of the unique architecture here - while being a beautifully modern hotel. Staff were very welcoming and thoughtful from when we arrived to our departure. We booked a room at the top of the hotel, 3rd floor no elevator. If that's OK with you I'd say grab it! We had views of the castle, the valley, the town and were right next to the roof top deck where we enjoyed having drinks at night. Nice big room with with beautiful woodwork everywhere. Breakfast was the great Balkan standards and eggs made to order. All in all a pleasure. Staff helped us find the route to the bridge and also confirmed the bus departure time for our next stop. Loved our stay!

The location of the Kalemi 2 cannot be beat. You are in the most atmospheric part of Gjirokaster, with a gorgeous deck overlooking the valley & up to the castle. We booked a large view room which was outstanding. Beautiful touches: the high wooden ceiling is a work of art. Tall windows with nice drapes, a stone wall: very atmospheric. Views on three sides: castle, valley, deck. The hotel doesn't have elevators & the room was two flights up but IF that's not a problem, then it's excellent! And a young man helped us with our luggage up he stairs. Right off our room there was a great deck with half a dozen tables - perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. Bathroom was nice: good size shower & good pressure. A quibble: just 3 plastic hangers? Breakfast was traditional Balkan with 2 kinds of cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, peppers, bread, honey & the most wonderful fig jam, coffee, juice, tea and eggs made to order (served with Albanian sausage). Staff were helpful and very nice. ONE caution: Friday & Saturday nights, you're in the heart of the Old Town & music goes until midnight - 12:30. So that means the room that has great views on 3 sides also has noise from at least 1 side. Loved our stay.

Here's the thing: I cannot recommend the Kalemi 2, but for a reason that is outside the hotel's direct control. You see, literally across the road is the Bukowski Bar, which blasts jazz and soft rock at 80 decibels directly at the hotel from evening time through to midnight. I don't know why the Bukowski Bar has to be so inconsiderate, but if you're in a room facing the bar, like I was, don't count on getting any sleep before midnight.

We had a great 1 night stay. Hotel is central to sights. First room was just as requested but neighbours chimney smoke began to blow into our room so we were changed to a lively 2 room suite thanks to Denis contacting the owner.

This property is hard to find. It is up an old old stone narrow road It is a real challenge to get to but when you find it you will be thrilled with its location and how beautiful it is.

Hotel Kalemi 2 is a very special hotel. Our suite was in a traditional style but with a very comfortable bed and a modern bathroom. The views from our room were spectacular. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. We were able to park right outside the hotel entrance. A beautiful place to stay when you visit Gjirokaster!
