I got a really bad impression from the moment I arrived because they had a sign saying foreigners should pay extra. if I had known that beforehand then I would’ve never stayed here since I don’t want to support this kind of business. The room itself was okay, but there were no windows, the sink had been overrun by ants, and the walls were really thin, meaning I could hear people even when they weren’t on my floor. this especially became a problem around 8am when all electricity got cut off. meaning the room became pitch black (since there are no windows), the airconditioner and WiFi stopped working, and I didn’t even dare to leave the room because I figured the keycard wouldn’t be working either, so I might’ve risked getting stuck outside the room. This lasted a very long time, and became impossible to sleep because of the heat and a baby crying. When I finally checked out around 11:45 (still no power in the entire building at this time), then the lady asked if I had taken any drinks, to which I replied the free water, and as she was about to charge me for the water, then I explained to her that the water was standing next to a big sign that said free (not to mention all hotels always give 2 free water bottles). anyhow, it felt like she was trying to scam me, and considering the hotel had no electricity for 4+ hours (maybe still haven’t been fixed, I don’t know) then I think it’s really bad taste to try to charge for I assume free water. She didn’t even acknowledge or apologize for the troubles caused by the power outage.
