The hotel is a modern & therefor attractive building. The staff on reception were friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean & comfortable. Where the hotel was let down, was the total lack of any local information available in the room or at reception. The hotel surroundings are not attractive and it's position is very isolated - walking to nearby areas of attraction is at least 15 minutes & alongside a dangerous road - consequently you need a car or taxi to get anywhere. This is further problematic due to there being no facilities in the hotel i. e. the restaurant is only open for breakfast (buffet style) & lunch (limited menu), there is no bar, no gym, no swimming pool and I believe no room service (no menu /information in the room).
An attractive hotel option as a transit place to stay between flights but not for a Sandakan stay - should have stayed at The Sabah Hotel instead.
