Excellent location clean but rooms has real odor like a sewer Report to front desk but no results

I booked my room through hotels.com and saw good reviews. The location is very central and some staff are polite. However, I was allocated a tiny room on the 7th floor with only a small window facing an interior patio. The room had some vents that were constantly pushing very hot air into the room. The air conditioning was not working because is winter and there was NO AIR coming in from outside, since this was an interior patio - only smell from nearby restaurant kitchens came in, but no air. I explained that the room was very hot, but I was denied 'an upgrade' and was told by the receptionist in the afternoon that I got what I paid for. When I came back in the evening I was sweating and feeling sick, with a headache due to the heat. The lady downstairs explained that this is the system they have, it is either very hot or cold, they cannot regulate it and neither can the guests, because the room was very small and interior, the effect was more intense, turning my room into a sauna/oven with 25 degrees at one point. I went to reception and said I had to sleep in the lobby because I would asphyxiate in that room. She eventually offered me a room on the first floor, with no heating at all, which was actually pleasant in comparison. I eventually got to sleep at 3am. I would avoid this place unless they change the heating system.

Amazingly helpful staff; we especially appreciated the assistance of one member on our last day as it was raining and she helped with providing umbrellas and moving our luggage.

This hotel is overrated as 4 stars. The location is great and the rooms are clean. However, there is no coffeemaker in the room. The nightstands are so tiny. The windows are not soundproof. Our room was on the street side and we could hear the street noise all night. They have very bad service. When my husband asked for an extra blanket he was told to pick it up from the front desk. This is unheard of. Do not stay at this hotel. It is overrated and overpriced.

The Hotel offers a convenient location and comfortable accommodations. There is a terrace accessible to all, which was a bonus.

The location of this hotel is great. It is very close to Catalunya Plaza and is convenient to various public transportation and tourist attractions. The property was built around 2017, which is pretty new. Unfortunately, it is not well maintained. The TV remote and the phone did not work. The staff was nice to find me a replacement TV remote. The shower door makes loud squeaking noise. There was obvious mold stains on the shower seals. The sound isolation between the rooms were poor. The water jets of the shower unit need to be adjusted to avoid spraying out of the shower area. In general, this property could be made much better than the current state without spending too much money and could be collecting higher room rates.

Good and convenient location with well equipped room. Comfortable bed and huge bathroom.

They must’ve been something wrong with the window sensors, so my air-conditioner was not working. I told staff about this over three days and nothing changed. Waking up soaked in sweat because the room wasn’t cool enough. Complimentary hot drinks in the lobby however half of the containers were empty didn’t get filled up for a day and a half. Black tiles in the bathroom, so you can’t see if there’s mould. No extractor fan in the bathroom to pull out all the hot air just a hot mirror.

Excellent hotel for accessing central Barcelona and all the sightseeing locations. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a good size and clean.

Great location, the staff was great. The breakfast could be better.

Air conditioning went out on our final day….seemed like it was programmed to shut down…. Could not override from room. Room very uncomfortable and street was much to noisey to open windows.

I booked the hotel in advance, paid a lot for the first two days of my stay (formula 1 & St Joan festivities) but my room had a problem with the A/C, I couldnt sleep during two nights because of that. I asked the hotel to cancel the rest of my reservation to go somewhere else, of course they declined my request. During the two days they told me that the technician was working onsite solving the issue. Of course was not true. They finally gave another room after I asked for it o the third day. I also wrote the hotel a message on the hotel.com app, never got an answer. The funny part they asked me to book a taxi to the airport. I called expedia and of course they didnt do much either. I will put a claim on the Barcelona’s consumer bureau.

La relación preció - calidad es muy mala porque el hotel es extremadamente caro con los servicios que ofrece. No hay aguas de cortesía más que el primer día, todo tiene costo en el frigobar. La limpieza la hacen demasiado temprano, y el personal de limpieza es brusco al mover los muebles.... Lo único excelente es la ubicación.

Great location easy to walk everywhere in the Gothic Quarter, easy to checkin and check-out. I would say beware of the AC though. We went when the weather was in the 70s (F) and we opened the windows and got a really pleasant breeze all day. But the AC was not what one gets in the States, it was quite faint even at full power and it is centrally controlled by the front desk staff. So I would hesitate to recommend this location in the hotter summer days. Staff was helpful and kind, and it was nice to get daily room service.
