Parking not easy. Difficult to sort when arriving in very busy traffic after a long drive.

The Telstar is a lovely old time bed and breakfast using a converted house (i think). It is relatively close to Exeter St David's train station, and very close to Exeter University. The rate includes breakfast and free parking, which is a big nus. I had the single room with a small shower and toilet. No complaints. The staff are all very helpful. Be warned that there are no lifts in the hotel and the stairway is quite narrow. So those with huge luggage will have some difficulty getting up to the upper floor. Also, from the train station, the Telstar is on a hill. Given the room rate and everything, i am happy to recommend the Telstar. My thanks to Sam and Amy for making the stay a very enjoyable one.

Comfortable, quiet and clean. Quirky b&b. Slept very well after long drive and university open day. Walkable to town and the campus. Lovely breakfast!

Very helpful staff, conveniently located for both Exeter St. David's and Central railway stations, clean room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. My room was at the front and traffic noise was noticeable.

Excellent location and parking ok , very well laid out breakfast with both hot and cold options, hot is cooked to order and was delicious. Very friendly host and offered lots of advice, we stayed here due to looking at the university and the location was perfect.

Owners were friendly, room was clean and had all we needed. Double bed was comfy but was just 2 beds pushed together which kept making a gap in the middle. Only real disappointment was the shower as the pressure was almost non existent. Overall it was a nice place to stay for the night.

The best thing about the Telstar is that all the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Parking is interesting - but it works well - and the breakfast is excellent! Second stay here, and we will be back.

The room was simple but clean with a view across the Exe valley. I liked that the heating stayed on until late evening, the hot water was reliable and the shower did not fluctuate between hot and cold. Also, the proprietors were generous and flexible with breakfast. The hotel is close to Exeter's two principal railway stations and about 15 mins walk from the town centre. Minor complaints - some of the lightbulbs were too dim and the toilet seat shifted around.
