Clean, friendly staff

The bed comfortable.. good location

I had heard a few negative things about this hotel and even my taxi driver from the airport rolled his eyes when I told him where I was going. The service was mostly very nice and even though the common areas in the hotel are a bit dated and kitsch, the rooms we're actually really quite pleasant. My room was large and very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable as well. The nightclub downstairs can be very noisy and revelers returning to their rooms could be very drunken and noisy in the middle of the night. The only thing that was ridiculously old was the thermostat in the room - it wasn't even digital! I did like the pool at the property! Room service menu promised a spaghetti bolognese that was full of vegetables and packed with flavour. It was thick, brown sludge that smelt like rotting meat and no vegetables in sight. When I asked for a refund, there was a bit of a drama but I eventually got my refund. Avoid the bolognese! Everything else from room service was quite nice.

Terrible hotel, would not recommend staying and I will be putting in a complaint. Room was ok, quite dated and a lot of damage around but size ok. Big issues were noise. There are at least two bars/clubs attached to the hotel, and the noise goes on extremely loud until around 4am. So loud you can hear through ear plugs! Was then woken up at 6.30am to hammering, and whilst out by the pool, which is probably the best part of the hotel, had workers walking past doing renovations in the hotel. Stayed there during the F1 week, which must be a busy week for all hotels in this area, so not sure why works needed to happen this week seeing as a lot of people around! Another big issue was the WiFi.. think we only had it working for about 3 hours in total across a 5 night stay. There was a tp link box in our room that had an orange light majority of the time and did not get fixed, even after mentioning to staff a few times. Also think this hotel/the bars may be brothel/knocking shop. A lot of women in little clothes coming in and single men walking around. Didn’t necessarily feel very safe there! Don’t think this should be being sold to stay in purely for the noise issues!

Fantastic hotel, staff are amazing and very welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to Menaka the receptionist who was very supportive and helpful throughout our stay and also kudos to Abu Thomas from the Breakfast supervisor in the morning restaurant. Would love to be back to the hotel if I’m in Bahrain.

Amazing hotel to stay

Loud noise from a nearby nightclub all night, very old hotel with questionable cleanliness, extremely uncomfortable hard bed

Overall very co-operative staff( especially Mr. Anu). Cool place. Good restaurants in the vicinity.

I've stayed at the Gulf Gate many times. I like it. There were a couple of problems this time (e.g. the safety box was not working), but the staff took care of them.

I’m not impressed with service

The staff are very friendly and nice. Bahrain is very safe and although the area is busy and noisy at night, I had a great sleep!

Not a family place at all. Our room had a lot from noise from the night clubs at the hotel. Also there was a roaring sound at about every 30 sec that came and went. So avoid rm 240 at all cost :) when confronted at the reception they seemed like they couldn’t care less. The general condition of the hotel is bad. Go somewhere else.

Only good thing about this hotel is its location and parking lot for vehicles. - Building is very old and lot of thing broken. - old and dirt looking towels. - stayed there for 3 days, house keeping didn't visited the room even for a single time. - bathroom design is terrible. Your knees touch the bath tube when you sit on the closet. - Definitely not a family hotel. - Noise coming from the clubs at ground floor of hotel until 2 am in the morning. - Mattress is as solid as a rock.

It was pleasant. A bit dated but friendly enough. Fairly quiet. Also provides free parking.

it is ok for the price the good thing is the location whic is in citycenter but service is bad. the hotel could be better if has good managment good location good intrance. parking avaliable room big but has old furinture safe box not function. bed are comfortable telphon system old style hous keeping diffcult to finde but for 1 or 2 day is ok

Very comfortable rooms and valuable and there is all the facilities in the hotel and the hotel locate in the heart of Bahrain (Bab Albahrain) so it easy to go by walk for shopping.

It is ok for a quick stay when you require a pleasant room to rest
