This resort was a wonderful place to begin our Cook Islands experience. Large, clean and well kept room. Comfy bed and easy access to the outdoors. Staff were very helpful and friendly. One improvement would be to have the desk staffed into the early evening or access to someone. Other than that, a really lovely couple of days.

This hotel was in a perfect location. We could access the lagoon which was filled with different fish, turtles and eagle rays. The kayaks and snorkelling equipment were included and free to use as you wished. This was a huge bonus as some places charged for all equipment. The Lagoon restaurant was amazing! Va looked after us so well as did the other staff. The food was spectacular! You may need a car as the hotel is around towards Muri beach and not near the main part of town however there are plenty of resort bars, beach bars and restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended!

The location was really good, close to shops & restaurants. The staff from the front desk ( Mary & Leilani), housekeeping girls (Maria & Marilyn), dining restaurant (Mere & Va) were all fantastic, friendly & very helpful. They all made our stay very memorable.

The place was clean, quiet and had great views of the ocean. Staff were very friendly and the stay was hassle free, just what you need on a holiday

The room was very nice. Large room with a balcony. The staff were friendly. The beach was not the best beach. Was rocky and hard to find a good spot to go in. The pool was okay. There are some restaurants close to the hotel and can walk. The free breakfast is fruit, Rice Krispies , yogurt, and bread. They do have breakfast that you can buy. No wifi. I was there for 24 hours and bought the week WiFi pass of $10 and it last about 3 hours and then had to buy more data. I just used WhatsApp, instagram, email and watched 20 minutes of Netflix then went out (think was the Netflix). I had an international SIM card but did not work on the property. I had to walk down the street to use it. Nice hotel but would pick a different location with a better beach and WiFi.

The staff were incredibly helpful, giving advice on activities, taxis, what was open and helping to celebrate a birthday! Vhai and Mary were great hosts making sure we had what we need for two different dietary requirements.

A lucky find. In my opinion, they are situated in the best position on the island. The poolside environment was quiet, calm and relaxing. Laguna restaurant and personnel are fantastic; the food is delicious, and they are more than willing to accommodate special dietary needs. I rate the Moana,Laguna and airport shuttle team 10********!

Lovely big rooms!

My partner and I are a young couple from New Zealand. We have visited Rarotonga four times but this was our first time staying at any of the Moana Sands accomodation. We stayed for three nights in a deluxe garden view room. The room was immaculate, clean and very spacious with modern amenities. The room itself reminded me of an upmarket hotel room you would find in New Zealand. It is worth noting that the feel of the resort was slightly commercialised compared to other accomodation we have stayed at in Rarotonga but that is expected with it being part of the Moana Sands group. The staff were nice and pleasant but perhaps not as friendly as some you would find at more boutique accomodation. The view from the room, dining area and pool is beautiful and the gardens are well kept as is the whole premises as a whole. We found that it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing at the resort. From what we saw we were some of the youngest guests there being in our late 20’s with a majority of the patrons being of an older demographic. However, as a young couple it was still enjoyable. The beach the resort is located on is a more rocky stretch of beach not as ideal for swimming as other parts of the beach on the island. We did have an enjoyable kayak out towards Muri Lagoon during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Moana Sands Lagoon Resort and would recommend it to anyone looking for quiet, relaxing stay in Rarotonga.

Great outlook and clean modern rooms with beautiful view of pool and ocean. . Pool was fantastic, but needed a few more deck chairs. Didn’t try restaurant as only open at night. No wifi available which was disappointing as most hotels provide it. Had to purchase it and even when we did it only lasted an hour, so waste of money.

A great place to visit. Nice clean room, absolutely lovely people, wonderful view out to the reef. Plus where else could you stand in your room, look out past the reef and see Humpback whales leaping out of the water? Went there as a 50th Wedding Anniversary trip. So glad we chose Rarotonga as a destination, and Moana Sands as the hotel.
