Definitely the staff & owner who were so accommodating. The place turned out fantastic for our 2 weeks of stay. Morning was so peaceful and surreal as the Wilderbeests & Zebras wondering next to our table. Overall, it was the staff that made all the difference.

They need to add that this property is outside Blantyre so people don’t make mistakes to make and pay for their reservations. And after they pay the can’t cancel. Lots of toilet stains. No ba soap for bathing or showering.

I found Game Haven Lodge to be a very peaceful place. Even when the weather is hot, there is a lovely breeze about the the place. The location was convenient for me to explore Blantyre, Bvumbwe, Thyolo, Mulanje & Likhubula. Loved the game Drive. Weekends can be busy with locals which means you may have to wait longer for meals.

We came for the animals, but the cold weather kept the animals hidden. It's no one's fault

Very nice place , excellent staff and plenty of animals roaming around .after two dissapointing nights at kuti lodge i was worried what this place was going too be like i pleased to say it was far better in every way. Not much going on after about 8 o,clock but not too far from blantyre if you want a night out

Great place to relax and recharge. Nice clean rooms. The game walk, game drive, and mountain bike rides were a lot of fun. Food is good and atmosphere was just what we were looking for. It is quiet and peaceful.

Unfortunately the lodge is well below global 4 star standards. The "suites" are really a bedroom and bathroom and only contain 1 chair and very small table with no fridge to store milk, water etc. Limited wardrobe space. .Dirty bathroom with rusty shower and taps reported to the owners. First meal in restaurant saw a piece of fish served still frozen and was even tried to charge for after returned. In fairness, the owner Greg, was most helpful when the faults were reported and tried to improve things but it was felt this would need considerable time and sustained effort to rectify This lodge is some way out of town so a car or taxi is a must. Hotel transport to and from the airport is expensive and charged by the person even if only one car used. Local taxis cheaper

Rooms were comfortable and the communal areas great. A lovely front patio with a view of some wild animals. All the staff were helpfull and friendly. The guided walk early in the morning was wonderful and is a must. The food and breakfast was great. Just remember that Malawi is mostly vegetarian and the steak will probably not be what you are used to. The rooms were sprayed just before we arrived for mosquitos. If you are asthmatic, just remember to inform the hotel before you go, so that the room can be aired out.(If you want to visit Satemwa, remember to book ahead of time) .

This is a curious hotel and looks and feels like a refurbished military camp. The manage is friendly and helpful but the hotel lacks atmosphere .
