Bathroom was very clean

Breakfast a bit of a let down for the price, very little choice.

Shower room flooded and the breakfast was cold.

This hotel was great for a quick stop over, however isn’t the best for quality of sleep. It might depend on which floor you stay on but our room was directly above the gym, which in the early hours woke us up with the music and dropping of weights. It’s a shame as the staff, facilities, pool area and room were all of great quality for the price and very comfortable. I might consider another stay but would definitely request the furthest room from the gym area.

This is a really good hotel plenty off amenities , very close to shops and the train and bus station. Room very nice and excellent shower.

Small but lovely room, only one small window which was in the bathroom and the shower wasn’t powerful enough but I had a nice stay

Staff were friendly, hotel was clean, comfy bed, quiet area which is walkable to town centre. Although noise from within the hotel did disturb us the throughout the night.

Zara at your front of house is an absolute asset to your hotel. She made me feel very welcome and took care of my requests swiftly. Zara is probably the most friendly and proactive hotel front of house staff I have met in years and I stay in different hotels 4 nights a week. Aurelia in the gym had the most amazing energy I have ever came across for a member of staff working in and around a hotel gym. Village hotel Basingstoke either has exceptional leadership or is just very lucky to have staff like Zara & Aurelia. I imagine it’s both.

the stay was good, except that i had to move rooms due to the air-conditioning leaking. apart from that the stay was quite pleasant. The service was also very professional.

Received a call the day before my stay to find out they had overbooked the hotel and they had to move me, despite booking 2-3 weeks before. Offered an alternative in Bracknell or Eastleigh, nowhere near Basingstoke. They booked an alternative which was great, but when I checked in they stated it was common, that evening 10 others were in the same boat. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere in the first instance.

A last minute one night booking for work related stay. Very comfortable and so reasonably priced

Use of computerised check in is impersonal but there were staff near to help. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Water when using the shower flooded the bathroom, which I had to clean up to prevent a fall. The timer was on too long and too bright. When I went into the bathroom in the early hours, it lit up the bedroom therefore woke up my husband. Bed was uncomfortable as it dipped in the middle and the quilt was too heavy for this time of year. Pillow had been washed too many times as the filling was in clumps (should be thrown away). Poor sound proofing. The disabled parking area was very limited due to cars parked which were not displaying blue badges. I would advise someone checking the disabled parking area at regular intervals.
