A great place to stay located centrally for Hathersage. Plenty of parking. Our room was fantastic with space for three adults to share. Staff lovely. Good breakfast options. The downside was the very noisy, busy road that kept us wake as we needed windows open due to the heat. And then a loud banging noise (probably water pipes) started at about 5am. So not the best nights sleep.

We absolutely loved this place! Staff was very friendly. I was able to get an ironing board and iron delivered to my room right away. The food is amazing too! Only thing is the air conditioning unit in the room makes a terrible racket when we turned it on so we had to do without. My partner got hot at night but I did not.

Nice hotel in a great location. Room spotless, bed comfortable, staff friendly, food good, price reasonable. What not to like? Would definitely stay again.

Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at The George which was the perfect location to explore the Peak District. Our room (Jane) was very comfortable, roomy and tastefully designed. It was at the front of the hotel but very well sound proofed as traffic noise was not an issue. Both the breakfast and evening meals were excellent but the true asset of the hotel are the staff. All very cheerful, polite and obviously take pride in their hotel. It was a fabulous few days and we're already planning to visit again.

Staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast menu was first class.
