Calm and quiet.

Staff is great. Rooms are basic but good. Bed is very comfortable. Gym is far from good and the place is a bit noisy, still would recommend. Breakfast is fantastic!

I love their garden and their breakfast. Also the friendly and helpful staff are a plus. The first room I stayed #18, needs a cleaner sink area. It’s not adequate, not to standards. The location adjacent to the main university grounds is excellent.

I always stay here when in San Jose. Great spot and nice staff. Pura Vida!

Terrible acomodations and front desk service was terrible, would not recomend that place to anyone for the money.

Unique and welcoming environment

It is a charming hotel with very friendly service. I love the decor and many kinds of flowers. Located so close to the University - 5 minutes and you are on campus. Hotel will arrange tourist trips. Took one last time which was great (coffee plantation, volcanos etc). Would gladly stay there again.

Lovely little island of tranquility in the middle of San José! The hotel is right next to the University of Costa Rica and has a nice bistro-style restaurant on the grounds. Everyone is very friendly and completely fluent in English (maybe other languages, too!). The space includes a lovely courtyard with sculptures, and breakfast is included.

Really cute place. Lots of art and antiques. Nicely decorated. Restuarant on site is good. Beds are comfy. Place is very clean.

Very interesting location being embeded in the UCR campus. Hotel feel is that of the countryside while being in the city. Very unique.

Perfect for what we needed

The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere and kind staff. Even with the construction on the road in front of the hotel, it feels secluded and we had an enjoyable stay. The restaurant at the front of the property made it easy to return in the evening and relax with our group while having a good meal. The menu has a lot of options. I’d stay at the hotel again.

Very interesting property with several seating areas outside. Parking limited but generally not a problem. Some road noise in my room even with shutters closed but with several buildings facing different directions, likely different for all. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.

This is a very cozy homelike hotel near the University. Excellent breakfast and nearby restaurants includes Friday’s and Krakovia. The staff is very nice and professional. I recommend this hotel highly. Beautiful flowers everywhere!!

Hotel Ave del Paraíso is a beautiful boutique hotel in San Pedro, near San José central. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It felt more like a home or bed & breakfast than a hotel, and extremely clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and typical for the area.

This place has a lot of character and the staff is very helpful.

Property is immaculate and staff helpful and friendly, using English. Owner on premises daily. Very warm pool and warm Pacific Ocean beach that is suitable for wading up 100 yards when the tide is in. There is a very nice tourist town within a 10 minute walk at low tide.

The pictures online do not do this hotel justice. It is a gorgeous hideaway with gorgeous details. I felt like I was in a secret hacienda. The airport shuttle was most welcome and everyone was kind and the breakfast was incredible. Far enough from the airport where I felt like I was in the city yet not so far that it took forever to arrive after a day of flying. Clean and safe.
