everything is ok, except the elevator is too weak/slow

It is a guest house open to the public. It is located right next to the Catholic Diocese Center. Inaugurated in 1989, the guest house has three floors, with a restaurant and cafe on the first floor.

My three-day stay at Macalister 288 was very comfortable. It's conveniently located near Island Hospital, my destination for my emergency room, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I was upgraded to a family room, which was more spacious. While breakfast wasn't provided, it wasn't difficult to find due to the hotel's convenient location, and the Onya restaurant next door serves delicious, affordable food. I'd definitely stay here again if I were in Penang again.

It's a right decision to stay at Macalister 288 when I'm in Penang for 3 days. It's near to Island Hospital. The room was so clean, comfortable, and there's a free flow water dispenser. Just right below the hotel, there's 2 restaurants that was so good also, my favorite one is Onya.

Nice and clean, only behind the room there are noisy dogs and garbage trucks every night, but otherwise it is very comfortable and there is a restaurant under the hotel which is nice 👍🏻

This is my first experience staying at Macalister 288, a medical trip and I stayed overnight from Thursday to Tuesday, initially our room was upgraded to a family room type without any additional charge, the room was comfortable and clean even without a balcony, in the last two days I moved to a deluxe room with a balcony which was equally comfortable and clean even though the only problem was the unique lift that had to be taken turns but there were also stairs that were quite helpful in the middle of the hallway to access 2 very delicious places to eat, a pleasant experience when I went to Penang I will return to Macalister 228 hopefully the cleanliness of each room and its comfort will be maintained.

The elevator takes a while, but the location is very strategic. The walls are thin, so you can sometimes hear conversations in the next room.

Near with Island Hospital. Good location and good kopi tiam.
