I loved that we were right by the docks. There was only 2 bad parts about it. 1.) The bed was not great at all. 2.) You could hear the person next to us snoring both nights. The staff was very friendly and it was peaceful.

I booked here because of its convenient location next to OIMB and the marine life center. The property is beautifully maintained and the room was very clean and cozy.

Capt John's Motel was a cute. My wife and I needed some time alone, our 28 Anniversary, The staff was great during check in and out. Didn't like the idea that we were told to put our door key cards, in a bowl by the office window, they charge $10 for each lost door key cards, with leaving the card unsecure in a bowl, where anyone could have access to them, Isn't the best Idea, need a drop box, where cards are not assessable, Coos Bay in a nice town, with all kinds of things to do, and has a variety of Restaurants. weather was around 60 deg F, with fog later in the day. Not hot like other places with temps in the 80, to a 100 deg F, Didn't want to be left alone, hanging the Do Not Disturb sign on the outside of the door. Needed to exchange bath towels and get some more K cups for the coffee maker. House keeping was helpful and easily exchanged the towels and gave us enough K cup pods for coffee for the next day. Got the type of unit with a small kitchen and apartment size refrigerator, sink, electric stove with oven, kitchen sink had everything needed to wash dishes, including dish rack. I got this type of unit, because of having to keep my insulin cold, but found out the other less costly units, have a small compact refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker that uses the K cup pods. So. I didn't need to kitchen type of unit. Trip was relaxing and staying at motel was easy and very comfort. Jim, We would use Capt John's Motel again.

This isn't a Ritz, but it was great. The bed was comfortable, the Room was nice. The Staff were great. It is in a Harbor, but we really liked the overall vibe. It's nothing fancy, but it was comfortable.

Not a great neighborhood. Older motel. Room very small. Too far out of city.

I almost never marked down hotels because I know how hard it is to get your rating up, but this one sort of unfairly high up. You’re gonna be pretty far from Coos Bay, and it’s pretty rough around the edges. Now, it is utilitarian, price is good, staff SUPER nice : I would stay there again, but I would just want people to know going into it. You’re going to a place that’s trying, but it’s still more of an adventure than like a boutique

It is an old motel, next to the sea fishing port. Everything is old, but the room is comfortable when comparing to camping. No breakfast.
