Lovely traditional Spanish house just inside the old city walls on a very narrow internal street. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel has three parking spaces which we didn't use but I would ask / book one before arriving. The house has no restaurant but breakfast is but a few minutes walk away with at least three different options to choose from. Very good location, just minutes away from the old town sights by foot. We stayed 5 nights.

It was good! Really lovely little place. Not sure if the receptionists spoke much English but the place was lovely. Shower worked well, air con was a life saver - only slight issue which is probably not fixable was a few ants here and there, but as it’s such an open hotel there’s really not much that can be done about that. Location is great, moments away from the Mezquita Cathedral, would recommend coming here, especially if you’re backpacking etc. Slight disadvantage that the station is about a half hour walk away.

Very good location and comfortability for its price. The bathroom was terrific. It is really near the cathedral and Bridge. Aside from the hotel, Córdoba does not worth more than 1 day of visit. Such a boring city to me.

Our two nights stay here had been very pleasant, in fact, a little bit more than expected. We did, however, had some troubles trying to locate the street (directions) driving to the hotel as there were restricted zones that we thought we couldn't drive through. We had park across the river over the Puente de Miraflores. It wasn't until we checked in (after pulling our suitcases across the bridge up to the street leading up to the hotel) had we been told by the receptionist that there was a designated parking place right down the alley from the hotel for hotel guests. Check in was quick and easy, the lobby was furnished in a typical Córdoba style, very charming indeed. The hotel does not have any lifts as the building itself is believed to be over 100 years old. The room was actually really small, however it was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. There was no noise coming from inside the hotel although our room was right next to the staircase. The room has a wardrobe, air conditioner, a dresser, night stands on each side of the comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean. And most of all, we enjoyed the location and the little juliet balcony where we had our vino in the evening, soaking in the atmosphere.

This friendly, family pension should be booked right up every night. It is spotlessly clean, towels soft and changed everyday - even though they didn't need to be. It is very secure, in the old quarter of Córdoba, walking distance to all sites. Rooms are small but bathrooms are large and new.

It would be unfair to judge this against more expensive hotels so my comments are based on it being a low-budget place. My single room was small but with a good size shower room. The room was clean and contained the essentials. It was very well situated for the tourist spots - many in walking distance. A good, simple hotel in an attractive building. BUT .... It was ridiculously noisy at night. Travelling street parties on the Friday and Saturday that went on past midnight and seemed to have some returns at 4:00 in the morning that woke me up. Even screeching cat-fights didn't help on Sunday night. My sleep was so badly broken I had no choice but to catch up during the day. This wasn't the fault of the owners but is certainly a factor in recommending it.

The hostal location is great, in the heart of historical Cordoba. It is actually little bit confusing to get around and find your way as the streets are really narrow and zigzag. We arrived to Cordoba by train and took the bus#3 which stops on slightly bigger street just a few steps from the hostal. It was very easy to find as there is also a sign. Our room was very simple but cute with private bathroom. The main hostal door is always closed and the owner has to open it when you come in, which was no hassle for us and we felt quite secure there. Definitely good value for a short stay in the historical centre of Cordoba!

Wonderfully sited hotel in fab location, close to cafes and restaurants, historical sights and the most beautiful gardens in Cordoba. Friendly staff, good wifi. We had a triple room with 3 single beds, they are firm but comfortable enough. The room was a little tight for 3 but we spent little time in it. Would certainly recommend and would stay again.

The hotel was easy to find, with a big street sign pointing to it from the main street. The front door must be opened by the front desk worker, which could possibly be inconvenient but means there is someone there 24/7. The key we got had a big wooden block attached to it. Our room was spacious and well-kept, with a big heater, nice bathroom, a desk, and a closet. The biggest downside was the shoddy Wi-Fi. It would work for maybe 10-20 minutes at a time, then you wouldn't have internet access for an hour or so. Very strange. Other than that, it was great. The front desk person helped us call a taxi and they sell 1.5L bottles of water for a euro each. There is a great little juice shop nearby with cheap juice and meal combos and it tastes great.

I have really enjoyed my stay in Pension el Portillo. It was so close to attraction places and restaurants. I didn't have hard time walking around the city. Out bathroom light wasnt working during our stay but it wasnt a big deal for all of us since we only spent 1 night there. Overall it was great!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pension El Portillo. Angel and his wife were friendly hosts and our room was comfortable. The location is excellent and within walking distance of everything. The room was clean, comfortable bed and good internet connection. It was very quiet and we loved the interior courtyard. The room was small but fine for the three nights we stayed. The only downside in our minds was having to buzz in whenever we returned.

Nice hotel for tourists who just want to stay the night and are mostly visiting the places in the city during the day. The room is small and OK for a single person. Washroom is clean and just enough. Economical. Close to Mezquite Cordoba and at walking distance of most of the things one wants to see. If you are looking for any thing flashy it is not the place.
