Promising facilities, but the hospitality did not feel five-star. I chose Grand Mercure Bandung Setiabudi because it is presented as a family-friendly hotel with a beautiful pool, and I also booked a Prestige Room expecting a more comfortable and elevated experience. Unfortunately, one incident at the pool completely changed the mood of our stay. Earlier today, while using the pool, we took four towels from the towel station while the staff member was unattended. Because it was raining and the towels became wet, I tried to exchange them. The staff then asked for my room number and informed me that towel exchange was not allowed. I was only given two replacement towels, and when the staff still asked for another room number, he then said, “You have already been given four towels, so this should not be possible.” I understand that hotels may have internal policies regarding towel distribution, but the way this was communicated felt very uncomfortable and unnecessarily degrading. As a guest, I did not expect to feel questioned or treated as if I had done something wrong simply for changing wet towels at a pool area, especially during rainy weather. This was particularly disappointing because the hotel promotes itself as family-friendly, and the pool was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here. Instead of feeling welcomed and relaxed, the interaction made us feel unwelcome, watched, and undervalued. For a five-star hotel, the standard should not only be about facilities, but also about how staff make guests feel in small everyday moments. The breakfast did offer a wide variety of choices, which I appreciate. However, in terms of taste and overall dining impression, I personally feel it could still be improved to create a stronger five-star experience. The variety was there, but the flavour, presentation, and sense of refinement could feel more elevated. Even after receiving afternoon tea, unpleasant pool unrecovered.

The service was great, the hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. I left something behind, and the hotel confirmed it. The breakfast menu was varied, and they also provided a welcome drink. The swimming pool was warm, so overall, it was good.

I came here with my wife and our three children, and they were absolutely happy throughout the entire stay. Seeing them enjoy every moment made the experience even more special and unforgettable for me. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, elegant, and welcoming. The hotel’s architecture beautifully blends modern comfort with traditional Indonesian touches, creating a unique and relaxing ambiance. Our room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with a stunning view that made our family stay even more memorable. What stood out the most during our visit was the exceptional service. A special mention goes to Rahmat, the receptionist front officer, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His friendly attitude, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel truly valued as guests. He handled every request smoothly and made the check-in process effortless. The facilities were also impressive—from the serene pool area, which my kids loved, to the delicious breakfast selection offering both local and international dishes that satisfied everyone in the family. This stay wasn’t just about accommodation—it was about fulfilling a long-time dream and creating beautiful family memories. It was absolutely worth the wait, and we would love to come back again.

Nice and clean hotel, delicious food, complete facilities, friendly service, the only downside is the children's play area which is not very good and well maintained.

Everything was wonderful, amazing staying, very comfortable staying. We will be back again for sure without hesitation, only the public restroom needs more attention for the cleaning process.

I often see it on TikTok, so I came here with my family. Besides the warm, pleasant pool, it makes the kids want to come back again and again. The food is varied and caters to both adults and children, so far so good. Keep up the good work! Hopefully, we can come back again.
