Hotel more than lived up to expectations. Beautiful decor and well maintained throughout with amazing history. Staff are welcoming and efficient. Excellent buffet breakfast with coffee made to order. Centrally situated - walking distance to many local attractions.

The claim to fame of this hotel is based on the fact that 15-year old Mozart stayed there for 2 weeks with his father in 1771.
Nothing changed much there since (except for plumbing, of course). 3 rooms on each floor facing the street were obviously intended for the important guests and still are furnished accordingly, while other rooms facing inner yard were for the servants, coachmen, maids etc.
Hotel serves only standard breakfast in the magnificent ballroom under subdued soundtrack of, or course, Mozart, but there are unlimited number of very good restaurants within 5 min walking distance, including 3 in the same block as the hotel.
Location is also very good - 10 min walk to Piazza Castello, the tourist center of Turin, and 20 min walk (or 10 min on a tram 4 or 11) from the train station. Hotel also has a small parking, but reserve it asap)
One strange thing was that under pretext of Italian Law we weren't allowed to bring glass glasses from the breakfast room to our room (I plead the 5th amendment for the rest...)

The location is great: right in the centre of Torino but very easy to access by car. I got hotel parking for 20 euro per night. Not cheap but very convenient.
The hotel would have a lot of potential as it’s a beautiful historic building. Unfortunately they don’t really make the best out of it: breakfast (in a superb room) is very sad…. Bad coffee, bad croissants…. Bad juices, no real continental options…..
our room was very basic but a good mattress, decent bathroom. Wifi not working in the room.
Ok for a couple of days , with little effort it could be a real gem

.The location is good. Besides, I would move to another hotel in the area. The room is small and cramped. The people are not really nice except ANDRE at the reception.
The whole area is under renovation. Everything is noisy. It is not indicated on the website that the place is very inaccessible by car and is in the ZTL area

I stayed at the Dogana for Eurovision, great price considering that. I was pleasantly very surprised it was a historical hotel, Mozart stayed there. More impressed was how big the room was. Inside was quiet, I was greeted very happily, they even managed remember me many times when I would pass lobby. Lots restaurants, scooters, public transportation in immediate surroundings. I would highly recommend it. Very walkabale to all the sites, and even bus station if you decide walk it.

A classical and typical historic property that was as advertised. I enjoyed my 2 night stay at this hotel. Excellent room service and cleanliness. It was a delight to have a full set of fluffy white towels including full size bath sheets. Great location and convenient transfer at 50m from Star 2 bus stop (from/to Porta Sousa stazione). Didn't see Herr Mozart but apparently he also stayed at this hotel for several weeks. Good value for money.

The staff (negatively) shocked! On request of a corkscrew, they proposed me to go out with my bottle of wine and try to ask in cafes on the street, maybe someone will open a bottle for me. This is a clear description what a helpful and caring staff works this hotel. The rest is ok. Oh, and Mozart lived and played there on his trip to Italy
