Lovely hotel, we really enjoyed our stay! The all inclusive was fantastic with premium restaurants included.

We had an excellent stay at the Shangrila Rada Ria hotel. The resort is extensive, offering plenty of activities. We particularly enjoyed the spa, the reserve, the pool, horse riding, and the diverse range of restaurants, including Italian, Japanese, and Malaysian options. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Milhan, Erly, Yadmin, and Adeline for their outstanding hospitality. We look forward to returning again.

The staff were amazing, remembered our kids names every time we saw them. Looked after us very well. The entertainment was fab, the range of options for kids and the staff really love their jobs. The dancing and the band was fantastic. Thank you for the upgrade, Expedia!

The hotel staffs are very friendly and supportive

This resort is feeling very tired. Service was generally good, occasionally inconsistent. Room was spacious & quiet, but not in the best condition, although the bathroom was very clean (poor lighting, but clean). Cleaning occurred very late in the day for our room & turn down service was inconsistent. Amenities in the room were good. Flip flops & slippers were nice. Had planned to use spa services, but the prices for services were outrageous. At booking not advised we would be have access to both pools (the family pool was the only one open for our use) the more quiet ocean wing pool was only for club members???) pools was busy with lots of children. It would have been nice to have access to the more quiet adult ocean wing pool. Beach was wide and usually empty. Please be conscious of the sand fleas, they are really bad, make sure your insect spray is effective. The trash on beach to the left of the resort is bad…really bad. You cannot take a walk on the paths in the reserve without an escort and you can’t plan to take a shortened walk that is not part of an organized longer group walk. Buffet meals part of the all-inclusive, while extensive in choice, were not particularly tasty. Seafood buffet was particularly disappointing as far as quality and weirdly there was almost no choices for someone who doesn’t eat seafood. Best meal was an afternnoon tea served at the lobby lounge. Over all this resort felt geared to families/large groups. Not 5/4 star, very mediocre

Duży hotel z ogromna plażą, która ma łagodne zejście do wody, świetny serwis (czysto & komfortowo), doskonała kuchnia choć ceny nieco wysokie. W pobliżu brak jakiejś interesujących miejscowości natomiast hotel zapewnia o określonej godzinie transfer do miasta Kota Kinanbalu a nastepnie powrót wieczorem.

The best part about this property , besides r lush well kept landscaped gardens , the beautiful beach to view the sunset , is really the Malaysian hospitality . The staff genuinely try their best to help and make your stay as good as they can it . Special mention to Jerony Harvey & Azrul who gave great service !! Thank you .

Fabulous hotel. Everything was top notch nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

While the setting is undeniably beautiful and the staff are mostly genuinely friendly, the experience itself was surprisingly uneven and not at all 5-stars. The food setup itself is super confusing. Many of the restaurants were closed and only one open each night, which caters to the all-inclusive guests. So if you’re a la carte, you’ve got to sit amongst a buffet and wait 40 minutes for every meal. And because of the location you don't really have a choice but to eat there. We often had to ask for things more than once before they appeared. The wine we ordered one night was also off, and dinner often arrived cold because it took so long. The staff were really kind and polite throughout, but it always felt like the service was running a few steps behind. Happy hour was a bit of a letdown too, with like 5 drinks which were all pretty terrible – a Carlsberg can?! Come on… The check-in also felt disorganised, with no greeting or sense of welcome. It wasn’t rude, just oddly flat for a place that trades on hospitality. When we checked in we even found blood on the sheets. So not a great start. The people working there were mostly lovely, but the whole place seems to be struggling with timing, communication and organisation. It’s not 5-star really and if you're not doing all-inclusive I wouldn't bother.

Second room we booked was not ready due a” leak” - this was at 6pm. After we returned from dinner (which, to be fair was excellent) the leak had returned and flooded the entry to the room.

Excellent location for watching the sunset by the beach

It was great hotel. Staffs were friendly and room was nice and spacious. One thing though, even after I showed them and email about the 10 MYR per night tourism tax will be paid by Expedia at Check in, they still asked me again to pay at check out. It didn't happend at my other hotel, Le Meridien at all. Other than that, it was great stay.

Fantastic holiday, great hotel and always super helpful staff

The only recommendation would be for the Japanese restaurant to use less garlic when making the fried rice. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet offered a large variety of choices-fresh and delicious. We recommend a stay in an ocean view suite for couples who plan to visit. It offered an outdoor soak tub to allow one to watch the sun set into the sea. Little things made the differences at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria: • cold face towel when sitting by the pool • family friendly pools and activities for those travelling with little munchkins • accessibility friendly • located right on the sandy beach • multiple pillow options - AMAZING! • laundry service at an amazing price • a thank-you note from the room attendants sealed the deal on the day of check-out Service was excellent from the moment we arrived to the sad moment when we had to leave. Looking forward to another stay soon!!!

We had a great stay. Our kids had a great time.

After a terrible check-in process (lack of training) the hotel was great . One thing though the bathrooms are depressing and tired .
