Summit Hotel Tacloban

I always stay at Summit Hotel when I visit Tacloban. Staff are very helpful.

Its a good hotel

Next to a bus terminal and a very nice mall

This time there was no attention to detail. Nothing major but no towels in room, broken remote, floor drain trap dry emitting fumes. All this could have been prevented by one check of the room before renting it. Good in lobby was delicious.

Friendly check in. I was traveling from another province with my pet dog and my intention was to return home the same day. Unanticipated circumstance caused me to stay in Tacloban overnight and i was uncertain where i would find a pet friendly hotel. My previous experiences staying at Summit encouraged me to begin my search there, thinking they could direct me to appropriate lodgings. I was pleased and surprised to learn that the Summit has accommodations for guests with pets. There is an additional fee for potential cleaning expenses and a substantial but fully refundable cash deposit of 5000p. Every aspect of my stay was as exceptional as I preciously experienced.

Best Hotel in Leyte and probably in Eastern Visayas

I have stayed here several times, starting from shortly after the hotel opened a few years ago. The overall appearance is good, but the individual rooms are looking really run down, e. g., mold growing in the grout all over the tiles in the bathrooms, equipment breaking down, but it is a good value, definitely more upscale than other places I’ve stayed in Tacloban. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The room A/C kept it cold, but it didn’t seem to remove the humidity, but that might have been due to my not fully understanding the thermostat operation. I will stay there again if I have the opportunity.

Even better than last year

Cockroach infestation in first room and awful smell like raw sewage in second room. We travelled with a large group and we were all on different floors so we could not visit each others rooms. Sort of a hassle. Breakfast was great.

This hotel at best is 3 stars. Rooms are dated. Dirty. Carpets throughout needs replacing. Had to change my first room due to the stench emanating from the toilet hose drain. Furniture with obvious stains along with the walls. Lamp shade was grotesque with what appears to be mold. Tried to move past the stench but couldn’t. Returned to front desk and received another room. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Neil (manager) informed me upon checkout the engineer and housekeeper were informed. He arranged for a complimentary shuttle to the airport. Stated I would not be charged for the change of room. As if !! The positive is the hotel is adjacent to a nice mall. Had my hair done and a manicure to boot. Staying inside the room for more than sleeping was not in the cards. Not even to watch TV. Just not an overall comfortable place to hang out in the room. Breakfast was OK. Probably cheaper to get in the mall. Return: Very Doubtful
