Amazing stay at the British Colonial Nassau! Private beach and pools were incredible, never crowded. All the food from the various restaurants were great and all of the hotel staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating. And the hotel is right in downtown so you’re close to everything! I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Hotel is near downtown Nassau. Despite having an ocean view, the beachfront is directly facing a construction site (a future waterpark), so it's noisy even at night. Hotel has terrible noise insulation and I could hear people staying next door speaking loud and clear. Hotel restaurants are low quality with very high price ($85 for a piece of fish filet that's overcooked). The waiter took the wrong order, food didn't arrive until 40 mins later. We flagged down the manager, who apologized, but didn't do anything to fix the bill so we were charged on the dish we didn't order. Aside from that, food quality at the pool bar was equally bad. Overall, it was an extremely disappointed experience.

My wife and I had a WONDERFUL week-long stay at the British Colonial. Our room was large and comfy, with a great bathroom and an amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships depart in the late afternoon each day. The multiple pools (and hot tub) were lovely and not very crowded, and the private beach gave us the opportunity for a dip in the ocean. There were multiple places to eat on the property, which was extremely convenient. Our one (extremely minor) complaint: the online menu for the main restaurant (the Mahogany Room) was completely different from the actual menu in the dining room. We went in anticipating the “traditional Italian cuisine” that was advertised on the British Colonial website, only to find a completely different set of options. Still, the food was excellent. We will definitely come back here!

I would like to preface this review and state I have stayed at this property a couple times and I very much like it for a one night stay. I stayed at the start of my trip and then the end of my trip as well. This review is based on this particular visit. Check in is at 4:00, I understand it’s spring break however an hour and a half after check in the only reason we had a room was because I stood at the counter. I explained I didn’t care if the room had all of the bedding, we needed to get into our room. I understand they were busy and I hated that the people who took the brunt of the frustration was the front desk team. They were doing their best and trying to manage many guests however, you need to do more than apologize and offer a slight reduction in room price. I guarantee if I stayed in the room past check out I’d be charged so, this really was upsetting. It’s very convenient, very pretty, the rooms are enough for a night. I just never expected to wait so long for my room. The worst part is our travel companions who booked after we did checked into their room at the normal check in time.

I loved the location and private beach.but they should add some more paddles boats;because only one paddle boat is not justified to wait for your turn all day.
Also it's very hard to reach staff on phone or room service or any emergency.becsyse day time they are busy to attending customers and night time no one answers anything if you do have any question.whsts the point having phone in the room when no.one is there to answer your concern or any emergency or question.
Other than that I enjoyed my stayand looking forward to going back again!

Liked that it was small and easily accessible. Food was good but breakfast overpriced. Orders wrong on several occasions..servers didn’t care… since wait was soo long never would change to get order right.
Expedia should have told us there was a $100/day US surcharge.. overall would go again but do things a bit differently

Nassau is extremely busy when all of the cruise ships are in and to be able to come back to peace and quiet at the hotel felt wonderful. It’s a slice of paradise in and amongst a lot of craziness.

There are not recycling containers at all. The small breakfast serving spot has terrible food and no vegan options.
The service is decent but not excellent. Our room was super noisy at night maybe from the AC or the small refrigerator.
We couldn’t figure it out but if you have light sleep be careful what room you get!

My stay was incredible—everything was wonderful. However, due to a medical emergency with my daughter, I had to return on Sunday and could only use one of the three nights I paid for. I kindly ask if you could apply the unused nights as credit for a future stay, as this situation was beyond my control. I can provide medical emergency proof upon my return to Miami.
