The lock on the door didn’t seem secure enough and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut all the way

Reasonable rates for cold weather. Short on staff. Facility looks worn. Needs a refresh. Location on the harbor is nice. Parking and the threat of tickets from local municipality isnt fun.

I love this resort so much. It’s cozy and close knit; and truly feels like home every time I get to stay here

I love port Jeff . It’s one of my favorite places . Good restaurants, adorable town , not anything I can complain about . What I am upset about is that Danfords bar and restaurant were under renovation and there was nothing that indicated that when I made these reservations. I feel very disappointed that I still paid full price for this room without the amenities

Great location for a stay in Port Jeff. Nice views on the water. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly. You can walk to many restaurants, shops, breweries and beach areas.

Quaint roomy room

I've stayed at Danford's before - they do a nice job around the holidays (nicely decorated hotel lobby) and we usually stay here because it's convenient to visiting family. However, this time around, several negatives to report - 1. There was a large, horizontal crack (as in, you could feel the ridge along one side of the crack, so pretty severe) in one of the high windows above one of the beds, and cold air was coursing through it, which meant having to bump the heat temp even higher in the room. Have no idea what might have caused such a severe crack in the window, esp since it's so high up, seems like a safety hazard. ??? 2. the toilet ran constantly, which caused us to have to close the bathroom door at night so as not to be kept up with the noise (and btw, the floors are like ICE in the bathrooms, don't walk in there barefoot in the winter!). 3. We usually bring our gifts for a close family member into the lobby of the hotel to present to her because it's so beautifully decorated. Did the same this time, and at some point some odd older woman (dressed in plaid) came over towards where we were sitting, apparently with a scowl on her face (my cousin mentioned this later - I hadn't seen this individual's behavior or I would have said something to her). I certainly hope this wasn't hotel staff - after spending almost $600 at this place for a few nights I don't want to know that some nosey parker made my family member feel uncomfortable while receiving her xmas presents.

I’ve stayed at Danfords a number of times and have been happy with the accommodations. This time my expectations were not met. The room was clean and comfortable but the city side location made it quite noisy at times. The bathroom sink didn’t drain well and the amenities were minimal (no makeup mirror or hand cream, etc). The wall light switches didn’t seem to do anything so I had to leave a light on when I left the room. Overall for the price it was just ok and this time a disappointment.

Great 1 night stay. Very friendly check in & check out.

Called the day of my reservation to see if they could accommodate an early check-in and they did. Thankful for that because we had a wedding that started at 2 a few towns away.

Property was great and close to the other restaurants. The bartender, Andrew, who served us had no personality, didn’t set up for when we ordered food so we had to wait for utensils and napkins as our food sat there and got cold. We ended up going off the premises for drinks and food while he was working.

Excellent. Spacious rooms.
