The minute we arrived it was a pleasant experience. We were greeted by the valet Owen who promptly unloaded our car on a trolley and rolled it in for us to check in. Aurelia welcomed us at the desk and offered us champagne (very nice welcome after a long drive!). It was a quick and easy check-in and we were off to our room. Our room was VERY spacious and had a large, comfortable couch and relaxing TV area. There was a small fridge, microwave and Keurig. There was also a nice dining table and a desk. Loved the location, the friendly staff and beautiful, comfortable room.

I thought it was unique that the hotel used to be an Ivey's and the elevators announce the clothing for the floor you are arriving on. But I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee IN the room. I had to go downstairs and make it myself. There is also no ability to get your own ice, so I had to go to the lobby and request ice and a glass. I paid extra for a City View room but all I could see was the brick of the building next door. The staff was great and accommodating.

The hotel is a converted department store which has stayed true to its original architectural roots. The staff is warm and welcoming and very helpful. The location downtown made it unnecessary to use a vehicle for either dining or entertainment. I would definitely see here again

This quiet hotel is located in the very heart of an active art deco downtown. It is easy walking to find eateries or alcohol options within a few blocks. Loved that!
Shops nearby are boutique style and pricey, but is understandable, due to the city recovery efforts.
We recommend the reasonable and friendly valet parking here, as street parking hard to secure.
Our room was large and clean, king bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was outdated, but very large, with 2 sinks and a separate garden tub.
Reception desk was always staffed and friendly, easy with information.
No restaurant, bar, or room service in the hotel but you can find such close by.
All in all - we will stay here again vs a "box" hi-rise hotel as we enjoyed the charm of Haywood Park.

Wow! The young man at reception was so friendly and helpful! I had a nice flute of champagne as a welcoming. Our room is so spacious and nice. Living room, closets, separate bedroom, huge bathroom! Very comfortable with lots of amenities. I love the historic photos and info about the former department store which was in the building.
