MainStay Suites Dubuque at Hwy 20

The suite was nice, but all kind of crammed together with no divider between the bedroom, sitting room and tiny kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen needed more utensils and a frying pan. When I asked for a frying pan, I got a run around about how she would have to ask someone who would have to ask someone else and it would take a while, maybe the next day. I could not understand most of what the staff said and had to keep asking them to repeat themselves. Guests had to dial "0" at the front desk any time of the day or night just to try to get someone there to help them. Sometimes they wouldn't answer or wouldn't come to the desk, just try to take care of it on the phone. Worst customer service ever! During the four days we were there, no one emptied our trash, gave us fresh towels or washcloths, or even asked if the room needed cleaned. We'll never go back there. And heads up, the hotel next door is owned by the same group.

Room was dirty and had broken things in it

Very nice hotel! Could use some minor maintenance, but overall very clean! Very handy to medical facilities nearby for traveling employees. Need to drive to food options, but no big deal for us.

Loud. Smelly. Dated.

The room was well worth the price. Everything was clean overall. The only things I have to say that aren't worth 5 stars are that my room had some mold around the jets on the face of the showerhead and that there was a dirt stain on the fitted sheet of the bed. Also, the one interaction I had with someone at the front desk wasn't bad, but wasn't inviting either. I would stay here again because the quality for the price is worth it.

Old food in drawers, no bedding for pullout couch. The chairs had food crumbs on them. The floor did not look clean. I am done with Choice hotels, I thought I would try them again, I was a frequent user several years ago.

Beds were comfortable

Always a pleasure to stay. Staff acknowledged that I was a returning guest.

Took 20 minutes at midnight to check-in. Didn't provide me a receipt because their computer was broken. Couldn't run a credit card for incidentals. Finally got to my room and IT WAS A DIRTY ROOM. I had specifically asked for extra pillows in my booking so obviously they didn't bother to do that as well. Took another 10 minutes to finally get my room. Ridiculous.

Room smelled bad and was very dirty. Front desk people are incoherent and disrespectful. I Wouldn’t stay here

Well maintained

The room could be more clean, there are dirty spots around the room. Sleeping on the bed makes my skin itch, unsure if they changed the sheets for the new customer.

Bedding was dirty, it had the vibe of a beat up apartment but as it was assumed it is more for long term workers to use the suite we stayed in.

Great rooms, good breakfast. Nice quiet outdoor seating. Staff seems to work with looks of I don't want to be here attitude. We arrived at 2:36 to see if we could check in for 3:00 lady working said I could do it at 3...as we were already in the building I asked to use the restroom and no TP or paper towels. I asked the lady politely and she says oh they are busy cleaning the rooms...I replied so I have to wait...I then see a different worker going to the supply closet and asked him for TP...all this with 90+ weather outside. Also booked 1 night with pay in person option to pay in Cash they would add a $100 deposit...so card it was

First room had dirty walls, cabinets, crust on couch.. very dirty. Second room much better.

I booked a room with 2 queens beds, but they gave me a room with only one. I showed them my reservation and wouldn’t give me a room that I reserved. They also refused to give me a credit for the error. The room had extremely poor air conditioning.

Very nice would stay again

It was awful!! We ended up leaving because the room was so disgusting. The floor was sticky. It was 80° in the room because the air conditioning didn’t work. The shower head was broken. The paint was coming off the cabinets which my 1 year old keep picking up and trying to put in his mouth. The main door has a gap and is loose. Awful! Just gross and awful
