It's a relatively cheap hotel, and I've had mixed experiences here. But this time it was pretty nice! I think they might have done something to the rooms - new carpet or something - and it really helped.

I enjoyed my one week stay at Microtel. It’s quiet, clean, and cozy. The staff was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. I would like to see more breakfasts options. I’m definitely staying at this hotel next time I’m in South Bend, IN.

The staff was very accumulating and nice. I can’t say enough about them. The hotel probably needs a bit of updating in bathrooms but it was very clean and had lots of room. You cannot beat the location being so close to Notre Dame- it was an easy 15-20 minute walk on a beautiful path. The Chinese food place across the street was very dood.

The location is excellent for those doing things at Notre Dame.
But it had a tiny toilet that needed several flushes to work. There were only two small and lumpy pillows, and the prominently advertised breakfast was non-existent (i.e. there was cereal but no milk, a covered dish for sausage and such but it was empty, no pastries, bread, or bagels. There was coffee in small styrofoam cups but no half and half, only chemical creamers).

Room smelled terrible, light in bathroom didn't work. We had reserved a 2 queen room but it wasn't available when we arrived. We were given a King room and waited 90 minutes for a rollaway bed for our daughter.
