Inuyama FestivalIt is a festival held in Inuyama Castle Town on specific days in the spring. It is registered as an important intangible cultural property. The festival started in the beginning of 18th century and it remains as it was at the time. 13 yamas(floats) parade through the Inuyama Castle Town and give shows of karakuris(mechanical dolls) with music of taikos(Japanese drums) and fues(Japanese flutes). They all are gorgeous and luxurious.Must-watch-thing here is Donden. It is a turn of a yama where men get together and shoulder the yama of 3 tons with huge shouts. All the men put all their energy into Donden, which is absolutely overwhelming. You have a number of choices of food in the festival. The town has many restaurants and food stands, so keep checking them out while the tour and find your favourite.Shiromi PromenadeThis promenade is a walking street for the local people. There is a line of cherry blossoms spreading out towards Kiso River, which makes you feel like taking plenty of photos. Inuyama CastleInuyama Castle, built in the 16th century, is a National Treasure of Japan and is the oldest existing castle in Japan. Big chance to take abundant photos of the combo of the Inuyama Castle, the garden and sakura trees. Red umbrellas and chairs are very Japanese-like so do not forget to capture them, too.(Please note: It is expected that it will be very crowded so it is very likely that you cannot get into the donjon of the castle. You can get in the gate with the ticket included in the tour fee.)Kiso River WalkwayOn the way to Inuyama-yuen Station, you walk along the most beautiful street in Inuyama, which is last part of the tour and the very sakura spot beside Inuyama Castle. Take a look up on the promenade and you will see Inuyama Castle standing on a mountain and looking down on you.
