Beaulieu Hotel

The hotel was in a great location and has some great facilities. Staff were helpful and we felt well looked after.

The hotel is very cosy and has a nice albeit small swimming pool, we didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on food the general cleanliness was good . The room itself was below a standard expected for the price paid but as I booked through hotels.com , I think I paid a premium, the room was very hot so made it uncomfortable to sleep even though I turned the radiators off. The bed itself was very comfortable nice thick mattress and two comfy pillows, the worst part was the morning , shower was stone cold so could not use, some of the furniture in the room had seen it’s best days ie the desk and side tables ,there was also some nasty stains on the carpet, but as this is a new forest hotel with lots of hikers staying , I guess that is to be expected, there is plenty of parking and hotel is well situated for exploring the new forest. Based on the price I will give this hotel a rating of 3 stars .

Check in was quick and receptionist was professional. Bedroom was clean. Comfortable bed. Kettle/tea and coffee. Quiet.Bathroom needed updating. the shower head stand was broken but the shower was a good water pressure and clean.Pub/restaurant on site. Very attentive service. Food was good and a good variety on their wine list.Check out could have been better. The receptionist needed help and took a while to correct our bill. However the lady who helped was very quick and professional. Would return.

Pool closed, faulty shower, no soap - poor customer service. Disappointing experience all round - want a refund.

Most if the staff were lovely. The hotel its self is tired, some parts unkept. This is a shame as the location is perfect, very good for young children and was nice to see dogs welcome. The whole place needs dusting and in the case if our room it needed a re vamp but it was not dirty. The food was very average and the breakfast was disappointing. My last point is the swimming pool was more of a plunge pool only big enough for toddlers and baby’s, not adults.

The Hotel was situated in pleasant surroundings, catered for everyone including children. The staff were very welcoming and easy to approach. The menu choice was very good and the food cooked to a very good standard my wife and I enjoyed celebrating our 45 wedding anniversary here.

There was no lift. Fixtures and fittings came off the wall (apparently held on by good luck and little else)in our room! TV remote originally didn't work. Replaced by very helpful staff. No phones in the room so needed a long and meandering walk through the hotel to reception to report problems. No less than 6 corridor doors needed to be opened (whilst navigating suitcases through the hotel to reach a room very much at the distant end of the building. Somebody obviously had a 'job lot' in corridor doors at some point!!

All staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The Drift restaurant evening menu sadly lacked imagination with poor seasonal choices. The breakfast menu was good and it was possible to choose variations from what was available. The room was clean and comfortable. The selection of in room beverages was very limited with no packets of biscuits.

The hotel was basic but clean with friendly helpful staff. There was a large garden at the rear with plenty of table space and open forest at the front for walking. Like a lot of hotels it could do with some paint touching up in some areas.

Hotel is lovely although a little tired. Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the forest, but only one bedside lamp, bulbs in main light not working, dripping shower, tired decor. We still had a lovely stay and I would visit again but might have a conversation about room choices beforehand. Staff are very friendly, helpful and polite.
