Esplanade Hotel

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a nice and the bar prices were very reasonable.

Have stayed here once before. Since that time they have made some changes to the rooms to upgrade them. Rooms are clean. It takes a while for hot water to run in the shower and the flow is week but it’s an old building. This is a nice hotel for the price paid. Breakfast is included and of a reasonable standard. Staff are friendly. There’s some parking and off street parking is available for free.

If you have a dog they put you in one of there pet friendly rooms

Booked room as indicated on website and later requested it to be on ground floor. Room was nothing like the photos on website. Reception/ manager was a delightful and helpful person. Housekeeping was non existent during our 7 day stay. Bed never made or changed. Bathroom never cleaned. Bed and linen was poor - not " premium " as advertised. Requested new towels which were of different sizes! No chair in room. No shelving in bathroom. Free parking if you can get it - parked on street for 3 nights. Property N O T as listed or shown on website. Choosing a type of room e.g. superior, is futile as it doesn't exist. Property is completely misrepresented on the site. Received one night refund for our complaints. No onsite restaurant as indicated. Very run down property. Parking available (4 spots) out rear of hotel with no access available to hotel - bags must be brought through front door - a walk of some 100m along footpath/road. Definitely not as indicated in description. Expedia needs to verify all listings. Travelled from Australia for this!

Very courteous and friendly staff. Big rooms. Great breakfast. Note: no lifts/elevators for those who may need them.

Good price, good location, free parking, friendly Staff and great breakfast included. Bed needs replacing, a bit more cleaning and some new carpets.

Staff nice. Bar and breakfast area good. Rooms a bit dated and bathrooms need a tidy up but overall for money good value. Breakfast was cooked on request and was excellent. Prob one of the best I have had in a hotel.

Enjoyed my stay here! Parking was round the back of the hotel and free :) Really friendly staff! The room was spacious and clean. The only thing i'll say, is if you want clean towels ect you need to physically go and ask. They didnt just go into the room without permission. I luckily had a sea view, which was stunning! Breakfast was lovely. (Full english) and juices and hot beverages available. Water pressure for the shower isnt the best, but works to have a quick wash! :) Overall, for the price ect i thought it was lovely and will be returning again!

Staff very welcoming. Some public areas, hall, stairs reception in need of updating. Bedroom and bathroom very clean, although furniture a bit tired. Very comfortable bed. Full English breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and arrived hot. Although would have liked to have had the choice of brown bread. Overall good value for money.

Good value for money, the hotel does need updating but I’m not complaining as our stay was comfortable. The shower wasn’t great and the bathroom very small but the bedroom was a good size. Breakfast was excellent. The tv in the room wasn’t great as there was no “live tv” I had to log into the iPlayer to watch anything. We did get free parking round the back. The hotel was placed in an excellent position for the town.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Esplanade Hotel was reasonably priced, with a sea view from our window. Breakfast included, but would've been better if there had been a fridge in our room, a balcony, disabled access to a room with a bath and air conditioning. Staff very polite and accommodating.
