All round, a very good experience. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, especially at breakfast.

Hotel was very clean & cozy. The spa was lovely & the breakfast has a wide choice of things, everyone we spoke to were friendly & pleasant & it was hot which is always good!
Only complaint was that there was only one plug in the room. Definitely need more plug sockets to charge atleast 2 phones & use hair dryers or straighteners.

My new husband and I stayed here as part of our mini-moon and loved it.
The spa was wonderful but the main pool a bit cool for me, my husband enjoyed it though.
We had dinner at the Fat Abbott and it was gorgeous! Staff were wonderful.
Slept very well, bathroom could do have been a little cleaner and the rooms lovely for a standard but could do with a little update in my opinion.
Facilities were super (decent hair dryer and shower gel).
Breakfast was spot on.
Loved it, we only live down the road so will be back 😊

Staff were lovely, a number of cobwebs in our room. It would’ve took no more than 10 minutes with a hose of a hoover nozzle to have got them off the ceiling and in the corners of the room, when we push the two single beds together there was also dirt underneath the beds other than that the room was of a reasonably high standard of cleanliness. The bathroom was fine outside areas needed some attention doors to be painted woodwork chipped some windows showing signs of decay. It was also autumn so to be fair the grounds were covered in leaves and there was quite a bit of green moss about. Parts are tired.

Lovely property room was clean although a little on the small side. The Spa looked tired and it could’ve done with a bit refub the hot tub was cold and I found the changing rooms full of cobwebs! The pub on the grounds was nice food was good. Overall nice stay

My husband and I come here every year. We love the spa and the food. The staff are very friendly. But this year i think we stopped in the worst room as it was so small. There werent any drawers to put your small things, t-shirts etc in, there was no room in the bathroom for your toiletries and even the bed felt smaller. The mirror in the room to do your hair and makeup was behind the tv and you couldn't use the one in the bathroom as there was no light near it so was a bit dark! Overall we enjoyed our stay but the room let it down a bit

Second visit here. This time we were given a room in the fat Abbot onsite. The room was small, bathroom door didn’t open fully as it hit the bed, the walls were really dusty with large handing bundles of cobwebs and when my hubby went to turn the tv on discovered there was no aerial as someone had snapped the connection off the back. The bed runner had stains and tbh really put us off. Definitely won’t rush back here. Clearly no care or pride is taken when cleaning the rooms . The spa is nice onsite and has decent facilities

Spa area is amazing.
Pool perfect temp.
Steam rioms, sauna and aromatherapy rooms wonderful.
Jacuzzi, warm but the hydro beds were not working.
Gym well equipped but old weight machines.
Staff were excellent, welcoming, accommodating and friendly.
Parking is excellent.
Room was spacious, lean and tidy however, the ironing board and iron do need replacing as stained quite badly so unuseable.
Easy to get into York as a bus stops almost outside and is only £2.50 single, takes approximately 20 minutes.
Overall an amazing stay, well worth the money and their pub next door does amazing food.
Cant wait to return.

Beautiful hotel. We had a room ìn The Coach House. It was clean and updated. The staff were all great. Breakfast was lovely.
The only thing which lets the hotel down is they dont serve lunch and dinner. The Fat Abbot pub is in the grounds of the hotel. The quality of the food in the pub is good but the menu is pretty basic and doesn't change.
We didnt use the pool and spa but it looked lovely. We would definitely go there again.
