Guyana Marriott Hotel Georgetown

I stayed at the Marriott Guyana for 4 nights. After traveling for 14 hours from Los Angeles, I was grateful for the quick and easy check in. The room was spacious and clean. Marriott typically delivers in all aspects and this location is no exception. The true value of this particular hotel lies in its staff though. I can’t sing their praises enough - the gentleman taxi driver, Anthony at the front desk and Alicia C & Amanda Wong in dining provided top tier customer service. Those are just a few of the names I remember of an entire staff of some of the friendliest and most accommodating people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. This is the most comfortable I’ve ever been abroad. I’m already making arrangements to come back.

Overall a nice stay. The pool was under construction. It would’ve made the stay much better to have that as an option. The food was great, pricey for someone eating small portions.

Several weaknesses prevent an excellent review. Staff understanding of processes and procedures related to the restaurant are inconsistent. Sometimes they insist that you sign for your free breakfast and sometimes they don’t. This is complicated by the fact that the waiters often disappeared after initial service. Additionally, room doors were difficult to open and often took several tries. Hotel staff explained the locks were new, but forced guests to deal with the problem.

For this to be considered one of the best hotels in Georgetown there’s a few things that lacked. The water didn’t get too hot just warm enough to handle your business. Upon entering the room I noticed the curtains were mangled and shredded idk what that was about. Perhaps change out damage property. The group around bathroom sink needed redoing. The ice machine on my floor flooded the small room off the side of the corridor it was attached to. The “cooler” in the room smelled like it was breaking down and food from prior storage still lingered. The food there was amazing drinks were ok. Pool stayed cleaned and checked frequently for any debris.

As áreas comuns do hotel são igualmente impecáveis. O lobby é moderno, confortável e decorado com muito bom gosto, oferecendo ambientes para socialização e relaxamento. A área da piscina é maravilhosa, com espreguiçadeiras confortáveis e um serviço de bar eficiente, ideal para momentos de lazer.
