Hotel Villa Il Castagno

Very clean and spacious room and clean bathroom, Very quiet and a 30minute walk from the main train station and most of the the attractions in the city. There was a nice continental breakfast too and the room was made available early for checking in as we had arrived earlier than expected. There were a number of restaurants and cafes nearby

My flight got delayed so I showed up late around 10:30p at the hotel on Tue, Nov 11 2025. The front desk was so so so rude that he was mad at me that he asked me why I came in late and I explained to him that my flight got delayed. I apologized him several times and he he was staring at me and said "Sorry, Sorry, sorry.. Sorry for what?" He also said he would not want to accept me next time. He treated me like a homeless guy or garbage. I felt so embarrassing. He asked me to pay 9 euro for city tax and I gave him a 20 euro bill and he was so mad and raised his voice "I want exact 9 euro" Luckily I was able to find some changes to sum up to 9 euros. It was a most terrible experience that I I had ever had at hotel in my life. Why in the world there is a service man who treats customer terribly like that? I was so sad.

Limpieza muy buena, hay escalera para llegar en las habitaciones, el personal: la mujer nos atendio muy bien, pero el hombre tenia mala cara y no era nada amable. Hemos pedido informacion de restaurante cercano y nos contestó mal, dijo para buscarnos en google. Y que en la esquina habia una pizzeria.

Best Staff experience in Italy. Extremely helpfull and friendly. I felt like I was home. I loved the balcony view. It was like be at my backyard at home. Absolutely loved it.

The balcony view is amazing.... Totally worth it the inner garden with lemon trees and a big cypress on the adjacent property the balcony has a roll up tent. Also a cute ginger cat!

Location is about 20 minute walk to centre of Florence. Very clean and comfortable stay.

Very bad experience, no elevator, had to lift 50 Lb bags to 2nd floor, requested to help rudely said no , no coffee maker hot water kettle in room and lots of mosquitoes

Pontos positivos: cama confortável, quarto grande e café da manhã razoavelmente bom (café, croassant, pão, queijo, iogurte e um bolo). Localização próxima a estação de trem (aproximadamente 5 minutos de caminhada). Atendimento da senhorinha que fica na recepção na parte da tarde foi muito bom. Pontos que não gostamos: box do banheiro é montável, molha muito e é desconfortável. O principal ponto negativo foi ter que pagar 5 euros por noite para ter o ar condicionado.

Our room was quite big and comfortable, but that’s it. If you wanted AC you have to pay. Do you want to sit at the terrace? You have to pay. No hair dryer either. The people were great though

Vid ankomst så möttes vi av en extremt arrogant, otrevlig och absolut inte hjälpsam portier. Vissa eluttag och sängbelysningen fungerade inte. Dagen efter däremot möttes vi av en glittrande glad kvinna istället. Läget var helt ok med tanke på priset.

The property has poor insulation. I could hear noises from neighboring room and even footsteps on another floor.

Un fantastico hotel 2 stelle a Firenze: Villa iCastagno Siamo stati piacevolmente sorpresi dal nostro soggiorno all'Il Casteletto a Firenze. Questo hotel 2 stelle offre un servizio e un trattamento di alta qualità. Il personale è stato molto cordiale e disponibile, ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio. Le camere erano pulite e confortevoli, con tutto ciò che ci serviva. La colazione è stata un'esperienza deliziosa. La scelta era ampia e comprendeva molti prodotti tipici italiani, come cornetti e brioches freschi, marmellata e altri dolci. I cornetti e le brioches erano freschi e squisiti. La posizione dell'hotel è ideale, a pochi passi dal centro storico di Firenze. Il centro città è raggiungibile a piedi in circa 30 minuti e molte delle principali attrazioni turistiche sono facilmente raggiungibili a piedi. Per visitare luoghi più lontani, come il Piazzale Michelangelo, consigliamo di utilizzare l'autobus hop-on hop-off. Un aspetto molto apprezzato dell'hotel è la sua atmosfera accogliente e amante degli animali. L'Il Casteletto ha un gatto di nome Tommy, che è stato molto affettuoso e ci ha fatto compagnia durante il nostro soggiorno. Il personale è stato molto gentile con il nostro gatto e ci ha fatto sentire a casa.Abbiamo notato che alcune recensioni negative parlavano di problemi con il servizio, ma per noi non è stato così. L'hotel è gestito da una famiglia e il personale parla italiano, il che è normale in Italia. A questo prezzo, non ci si può aspettare un servizio mult

Wonderful hotel. The room was large and clean. It was great to have breakfast on the balcony every morning. Highly recommended.

Ambiente familiare e vicino ai trasporti

The staff was amazing. The room is basic. The shower had mildew but was clean. Breakfast was Quality Inn continental basic.

Disappointed in this hotel, despite advertising they have multi lingual staff, free onsite parking and valet parking, they don’t have any of these. The rooms are clean and the terrace was nice to sit on but the whole place is generally fairly old and run down.
