Astoria Palawan

It was a great trip!! It honestly in our opinion helps to go with a named hotel that you know you’re going to get excellent food, amenities and service.

A1 staycation staff is very friendly and helpful, food was delicious and many different types of food to choose from, rooms are big and spacious .

Even though the beaches were closed after a recent typhoon, the stay at Astoria Palawan was still wonderful thanks to the clean rooms, great facilities, delicious food, and the exceptional hospitality of the staff especially Sir Vic, Sir Michael, Sir James, Chef Arturo, Susan, Roldan, John Dale and Ariel. The resort made the whole experience memorable and enjoyable.

Found the staff overwhelming at times.

La réception il y a beaucoup trop de personnel qui se marchent dessus, tout est très compliqué. Il faut demander plusieurs fois avant que les choses bougent. Ils sont en revanche agréable & polit. Les restaurants ne sont pas tous ouverts 7/7. En revanche les infrastructures sont de bonnes qualité, la plage est belle

I first want to say the staff was amazing. They are super nice and when I requested water and towels for the room, it came within 5 minutes. I really appreciate that. However, I have stayed here several times and this was the worst it has been. The room smelled until we opened the door to air it out, it was a holiday weekend but they made me park outside the property because the didn’t have any room for parking, the wave pool wasn’t working, and the kids playground equipment looked unkept. I usually love the breakfast, I used to say the best in Palawan, but it was low quality this time and I noticed some the the dinner food from the buffet was converted to breakfast the next day. I don’t know if there is new management or not but this was a huge disappointment of a stay this time.

Excellent staff stay was way above my expectations Travel often doesn’t get any better. Will definitely stay again 🙏

Stayed here twice in the last week. Real nice hotel superb breakfast buffet. A little overpriced for food and drinks orherwise fabulous place.

The resort has lots to offer on a reasonable price. It is worth it to include breakfast buffet with the room booking

The resort is great, nice rooms and next to a waterpark (walk 5min) which is nice. Very kind people all around and the buffet (breakfast and dinner) are really great (even though we normally don’t like buffets). Perfect service, couldn’t have been better.

Outstanding

Astoria Palawan was a nice visit. Pros: pool, cafe ( wishes it opened sooner and closed a lot later), outdoors green and lush and beautiful gardens. Walk to the beach. Breakfast and dinner buffets. Entertainment . Tours. Cons: kinda smelled and was humid in the hallway but it is in a tropical paradise. Room was roomy but bed too firm. Overall a nice visit

First impressions on arrivals was great. You are greated at thr door, given a beaded necklace and some refreshments whilst you wait for check in. After check in you are given a briefing and shown to your room. My room was fantastic and above expectations. The resort was very nice with great pools to choose from. The beach however is a let down. Not very nice or scenic. We had some trouble asking for help as the staffs communication isn't thr best. I asked where's the restaurant for ala carte and I was directed by multiple staff to the dining hall for the buffet. After a wild goose chase and finally found the restaurant, it was rather disappointing. Very limited menu, just one option for starters and no desserts. The buffet would have been a better option for sure. However the staff was very eager to please and went back and forth bringing items from the buffet to meet our request which I felt bad about. The other problem was arranging transport to the airport. Since it's a private resort, you have no option but to use their shuttle. Organising it with reception was a real pain and I was sent back and fourth to different people and even outside to a corner shop for a public transport because they did not understand what I was asking. Finally checking out was also a painful experience because they only have a 2 people at the small reception desk so at 11am the reception was over crowded with new guests checking in and guest checking out and no one knew about the shuttle service

I love Astoria. It is Beautiful place, safe and quiet. Very respectful and nice staff. Clean swimming pool, clean walk ways clean rooms and bedrooms. Only think i didn't have to much fun is food. It is very different taste then my cultural taste. But I am not complain about to much. I wish there is more salt base food rather then sugar base. Also I love to see more Italian and Spain vine selection rather then nasty French vine.
