Barceló Malaga Hotel

The room was on the small side. I am disabled and the shower was such that it got the whole bathroom floor wet.

So close to train station, but absolutely no noise from the trains at all

We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo Malaga. Despite having an issue with a pipe leaking into our room during our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and proactive in getting this sorted. They kindly upgraded us to a different room as compensation. Their friendliness, kindness and help was outstanding with a particular mention for Nacho who was just the best. We would definitely stay here next time we are in Malaga and have already recommended it to family and friends. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Barceló Hotel Málaga. The hotel is very clean, check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The terrace pool is a nice bonus for relaxing after exploring the city. Two things to keep in mind: parking is €22 per day, and while the location is convenient next to the train station, it’s about a 12–15 minute walk to the old town and around 25 minutes to the marina. That said, the walk felt safe and was easy to do even with young kids (ours are 5, and we managed fine without strollers). Overall, a comfortable, modern hotel with good amenities and great service.

This hotel is awesome! It’s a little further out but it’s so worth it for the rooftop pool and bar, the amazing breakfast and the massive, comfy beds. The staff were all lovely especially the guys on the rooftop pool bar and lovely Ivan on reception. The hotel is so easy to get to from the airport as it’s connected to Zambrano station- you wouldn’t know it though as it is genuinely really quiet and calm inside. We’ve never stayed in a Barcelo hotel before now we want to try them all! Oh and there is an actual massive slide connecting the first floor to the lobby and it is joyous!

En general bastante bien, lo único es que la piscina es muy pequeña y los elevadores no funcionan adecuadamente.

Tolle Lage, ruhig, mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt um die Ecke. Bahn/Zug/Taxi Anbindung. Sauber und schick. Nur leider der Pool kleiner als erwartet und trübes Wasser, nicht sehr schön.

The hotel is tired and dated. It is convenient for the train station but is a 15 minute walk from the historic centre of Malaga. There are much better hotel choices in the centre. Breakfast was mediocre. I will not be staying here again.

I booked this hotel as an overnight stop before travelling onward by train to Seville. As a solo female traveller arriving on an evening flight into Málaga my priority was safety. This hotel ticked all the boxes. The train from the airport was inexpensive and easy to use. On arrival at Málaga María Zambrano station there is no need to go outside; the hotel is connected to the train station by a well signposted walkway. Even at night the train station felt bustling and safe. There is a supermarket in the train station concourse. The staff at the hotel were very kind. Check-in was fast and I made use of the gym which was open until 11pm. Unfortunately I missed the pool which closed at 9pm. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options for me following a high-protein diet. I particularly enjoyed the mackerel and the eggs station. The slide was good fun!

Great hotel in so many ways - a pretty and comfortable room with all you could wish for, great breakfast and a hotel with fun design and quirks. The only downside was that the bathroom was quite worn down and not 100% clean. Then the fact that the service in the restaurant at the pool and the restaurant in the hotel lobby was none existent. It was literally terrible. The guy in the pool bar acted as if he had no idea what he was doing and the guy in the hotel lobby bar doesn't seem to know how to be nice to costumers. These two restaurants/bars really brings down the overall experience of the hotel, especially since everything else was great.

Está al lado de la estación de tren, lo que facilita mucho la llegada y el transporte si utilizas taxi dentro de la ciudad. Si prefieres caminar, estás a 12 minutos del centro caminando y es muy agradable el trayecto.
