Very pet friendly! Comfortable bed and spacious room. Pretty views and nice place to walk a dog around the marina. Very convenient to downtown Charleston.

Upon arrival had to call 3 x’for someone to come to desk and check us in. Room had no fridge which was necessary for husband’s medication and when tried to explain the women at desk kept talking over me and than claimed I was yelling and she hung up on me will never go to Laquinta again. AWFUL!!

Quick trip from hotel to downtown Charleston, 5 minute drive. Whole place needs a new paint job.
A guest’s dog peed right in front of front desk. I told staff it was there. 45min later I passed by again, and it hadn’t been wiped up. A yellow, plastic sign was put over the urine puddle “wet floor” caution. Really?! Lazy staff or no quality standard.

My room was not clean, paint chips behind light stand and many scratches on furniture. Bathroom did not have enough towels for more than 2 people and no wash clothes. I called the front desk for more and they didn't have anyone to bring them to me. The next morning I asked the front desk and they said they didn't have any and that they were doing laundry right then. Dirty room and not good customer service is not a good combo.

We have been staying at this LaQuinta for approx. 10 years. We had a suite on the 1st floor. The room was dirty. The lamp in the sitting area was in pieces and that was the only lamp in that room. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom and after inquiring a couple times, we had to go and buy one. The towels are more like a large hand towel to dry with. The tub was slippery and the shower controls were confusing. If you wanted a bath it was impossible to take one due to plumbing. The room (for a suite) was very poorly furnished. The air conditioning unit in the living room periodically made very loud noises. We will definitely not be returning there again.

Worth noting there is a large multi level boat dry dock next to the property that uses a very loud hi-low to move boats. Between the engine noise and loud reverse beeping made it tough to sleep past sunrise.

They serve a nice breakfast. Easy check in. Nice to see it Pet friendly . Only issue was the AC didn’t work well and was much too loud. But clean and felt safe here.

Great location by the water but old and dirty facilities. Water damage spots ceiling looks to have been painted over. Bed was dirty with stains and old makeup. Carpet was burned from previous guest. Felt very dirty.
One positive was that it was pet friendly but all the grass around the hotel was more grass burrs and stickers so we spent 20-30 minutes picking them out of our dogs feet.

This was the worst room I have stayed in. I was thrilled they let me check in early, but it came at a price. Without telling me, they downsized me to a smaller room with doubles instead of queens, no fridge, and the worst mattress I have ever seen or slept on. They didn't clean the room between nights, which was needed as there was no place to dry a towel. It was also filthy when we checked in. This was my second La Quinta in a row like this in the Carolinas after years of good luck in the Midwest and the Central South. The location was Ideal for touring the area. I highly recommend finding another hotel in the same area.

The front desk guys are cool. They have a small snack selection and waffles and eggs and other contenential breakfast items. Was it the best la quinta I've been in No, but it's pretty close to Charleston, it's by the water and a decent restaurant and it was nice to grab an Uber to get downtown pretty quick without shelling out 500-1000 a night for the expensive hotels in downtown Charleston. Of course that would have been ideal but we're teachers so that's not doable for us.
This hotel is clean, yes it could be updated and needs hardware to be fixed in the bathroom and maybe mattress updating but it was safe and clean and somewhere to sleep at night. It is exactly what you would expect from chain motel/hotels. Still we had a great weekend in Charleston and got the room at a great price and was still only 15 minutes away from downtown.
