The room was very quiet, the bed was comfortable. It was an easy walk into the Rundle Mall. There were great places to eat nearby. Close to parklands and botanic gardens. But straight out the front of hotel that takes you to Adelaide Hills, including Handorf, and Stirling.

I visit the hotel very often when I am traveling to Adelaide for work.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Hotel itself is nice and well maintained.
However there is an ongoing issue with the housekeeping team entering the room despite ‘do not disturb’ sign displayed, and the hotel doesn’t seem to take this matter seriously at all given that it is already the fourth time this has happened. They continue to promise it will not happen again, but it just keeps happening.
For me as a guest, I expect any hotel to strictly respect the ‘do not disturb’ sign unless it is an exceptional circumstance, and it should be the most basic and simple rule. But for some reason, the hotel management doesn’t seem to take this issue seriously or actually attempts to resolve this issue.

Check in was quick and easy. We were on the 10th floor. We followed the room numbers and found room 10 but needed room 11. We found the room (the room number sequence is stupid). The room was large with a view of the hills. Nice comfy bed although I didn’t particularly like the pillows. The bathroom was small and poorly designed. The toilet was behind the door which was awkward. The shower took up half the bathroom and the lighting wasn’t great. As for the shower, why they didn’t install rainfall shower head I’ll never know because the one in this shower was shocking. It took 10 minutes for there to be something resembling lukewarm water and that was with the hot tap turned up to the max. Did not enjoy the shower experience. We had dinner in Mamacita Restaurant which was good. The food came out quickly. The music was way too loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. Breakfast was included and is served in the ground floor cafe. It’s a buffet style set up with the usual fare. We had to wait a few minutes for a staff member to check us out. All in all, it was a good stay aside from the lack of hot water and the loud music in the restaurant.

This property has the potential to be top class. However I had issues with the lighting which was quite dim and that made it difficult to find things in my bags. The main light switch is next to the door - I would prefer the room lights to be controlled from the bed area in order to get to bed in light and then turn off the main lights from there. Or have adequate lighting at the bed.
The shower was a disappointment in that water covered a considerable part of the bathroom floor which is inconvenient and my bath mat became wet. Most modern bathrooms these days have a water run off channel to prevent this runaway water.
Breakfast was strange - I’m not sure who they are catering for but as a person needing gluten free options there wasn’t much healthy choice.
I believe it would be better to offer the meals that Australians like (same goes for the restaurant). We don’t book a hotel to experience international culinary.
Sorry Tryp Adelaide - you weren’t up to scratch in my view.

Location is great.
Still feels fairly new. They need to make sure they don’t let it fall into any disrepair keeping up maintenance etc.
Only thing I will say is that the cleaners could’ve done a little better job before we checked in. Apart from that it’s a nice hotel. Some dodgies do get around the area especially at night through.
