The room was beatifully decorated and the kitchennette allowed for me to prepare many of my own meals. I had a slight leak behind my toilet which was fixed very quickly after I called the Front Desk. The information sheet on local restaurants, ordering groceries and the island in general was useful and clearly presented. I appreciated the instructions on using the TV.
The ferry across the Harbour allowed me to explore Hamilton without worrying about having to pay for parking (I am local and have a car), although the long break in the middle of the day was a bit frustrating. The shuttle to the Coco Reef private beach is also really useful.
I found the posted rules about the pool being open til sunset and under 12's use restricted to specific hours a little strange. However, I didn't see these being strictly enforced.
My room WAS far from the lobby with lots of steps and there was no help getting my luggage to the room. I am local, so perhaps if I were a foreign tourist more help would have been offered. The Aurora restaurant experience was amazing the food was tasty and well presented and staff was pleasant and attentive.
I but was a bit disappointed that my birthday was not mentioned at all, other birthday staycations both local and abroad the Front Desk wishes me a happy birthday, or there's a note or something in the room acknowledging it. I also mentioned it when I checked in. Overall I was very happy with my stay at Newstead and will return as a treat to myself soon.

We loved our stay, the staff was friendly, and very helpful. Our room had a spectacular view of the harbor and sunsets. The infinity pool was beautiful, and the Aurora restaurant right on site had amazing seafood and service. We went to the spa also on site, and we loved that too. We will definitely come back again.

We reserved a one-bedroom suite that turned out to be apartment sized. Fully-equipped kitchen, living room with outdoor seating area, bedroom with another outdoor seating area, and 1-1/2 baths. We totally enjoyed the view overlooking the harbor. Complimentary water taxi to Hamilton was a plus.

The views are stunning and the property clean; I especially loved the daily housekeeping. That being said , the property looks tired, most of the staff of the hotel seemed unhappy to be there, and the location was very inconvenient; the ferry to Hamilton was helpful but there was a long break in the middle of the day where it didn’t run and it didn’t run at all on Sundays! The shuttle to the golf course was free but I never found out if it went anywhere else and the interior looked dirty and very old. The golf course itself was masterfully designed but not in the best shape; it had quite a few weeds around the greens and the sand bunkers were more like mud traps. That being said it was very challenging and we enjoyed our round. The Bahamas are VERY expensive and we had to take a taxi to pretty much go anywhere; it would have been nice to at least have transportation to and from the airport provided. We left a day early!

Service at the restaurant for breakfast was terrible! Staff NEVER came by after delivering what was ordered. If you needed something you had to get up and wave them down. Often you had to ask for things 2 times before it was delivered. Front desk staff were little or no help when it came to set up car rental or taxis. We had to get our taxis on our own. The property was a little dated. Poolside furniture were not in good shape. Meals at poolside were delivered in take out containers even though there was a sit down area for meals right next to the bar. Room furniture was also dated and needed a refresh. I would not stay at Newstead again. This is not what expected for $1,000 a night hotel.

Just returned from another wonderful stay at the Newstead. Our favourite hotel for ease of travelling around without hiring our own transport but using busses and ferries with the help of the hotel water shuttle which is a great service but shame it doesn't run all day. The shuttle service to the beach and Divots/Blu restaurants are very handy also. Staff are always very willing to take you.
The infinity pool is wonderful but can be taken over by families and children at times. A shower by the pool would be a real bonus. The grounds are very well maintained and the whole hotel inside and out very clean. We will definitely be back!

We stay at Newstead Belmont Hills every year and have always held the property in high regard. Unfortunately, this recent stay was our first truly disappointing experience.
Upon entering our room, there was a strong moldy odor. We also discovered that the jetted bathtub was not working---something I greatly look forward to each stay--as well as a nonfunctioning phone and several lights out. A maintenance staff member did address some lighting and informed us that the tub requires a new motor, which suggests these issues did not arise suddenly and should have been identified prior to our arrival.
Although we were offered another room, we declined as we had already unpacked and settled in. Later that evening, after closing the doors, we discovered the porch door would not lock, which made us feel unsafe.
For a property of this caliber, especially at a nightly rate of $661.65, this level of oversight is unacceptable. as loyal repeat guests, we expected far better. This experience does not reflect the standards we have come to expect from Newstead Belmont Hills, and we hope management will address these concerns appropriately.
