Friendly staff and clean room

The hotel was short staffed due to the time of year. My room had not been cleaned and still had garbage and dirty towels from the last guest. The room was cold, 66oF with a loud heater that did nothing to warm it up. The staff were all really nice!

We enjoyed our night here. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and assisted us with a change to our room to a pet friendly room. Breakfast was good and included.

The staff were amazing and helpful during our stay. We appreciated the renovated, spacious rooms and the fact that they are cat-friendly. We will definitely stay again.

Very surprised that this hotel would send a request for my review. But since they did I will give my honest review for the short time (less than 2 hours) we were there. No elevator only stairs to the second floor. Walking to our room the hotel smelled very musty. Upon opening the door to our room it smelled musty and cold (15C). We turned the heat to 21C and left for dinner. Upon returning we opened the door to a strong smell of burning plastic. Going down to the desk clerk, she said this was surprising but she would moved us to another room. Again entering this room it also smelled musty and cold. The desk clerk struggled to get the heater to start but after about 1 minute this heating unit also started to emit a burning plastic smell. She then becomes frustrated and starts saying I can’t keep moving you to different rooms. You can either stay in this room or leave. Obviously we chose to leave; with no other options in Kenora we had to drive another hour and half to Dryden. Wow what a difference in the hotel quality and staff. Definitely drive the extra distance and avoid this (Dis)Comfort Inn!!! We give them 1 star as they agreed to refund our stay after we explained to Expedia the mentioned issues above.

Room was ok. Bathroom door kept on falling o the hinge. Carpet had wet spots on it when we walked in and a few stains. However the bed was comfy and very clean. Bathroom and shower were small. Staff were friendly and property was clean. Checked in very late so I didn’t have to be in the room along time. Breakfast didn’t have alot to offer that was not sitting keeping warm for along time.

Great staff upon arrival.our room was short towels and so was the laundry room but the Saturday evening staff did their best. Again no corporate rates. I asked just 10% off.
