Great hotel, convenient parking

Rude, rigid, demeaning check-in experience, the first that I have ever had, anywhere, including in total dives in very underdeveloped nations. The receptionist was fawning all over an airline crew. When they were all done, I stepped forward. Big mistake, supposedly. You see, what I didn't know that I was required to do, was to stand far back with my back pressed against the wall, leaving them the entire floor to make their sacred exit, as appropriate for higher order members of the royal court. Of course, whether I stood at the counter, or back against the wall, the exact same floor space was taken up. So I was instructed to move back and wait. Then we were allowed to come forward, as the receptionist quickly removed from the counter all the stupid little baggies of signature cookies, which he had carefully laid out for that Almighty Airline Crew. It's symbolic of the whole hotel: pretentious, snotty, and definitely over priced. Rooms are ugly and constricted, filled with useless design elements. The rooms are also very dark, even when you light all the dumb little lamps, because the ceiling is dark navy, and the carpet is dark. The whole place is a money-sucking joke. We are grateful that the hotel let us check out early, with a refund. For that kindness, they deserve 5 stars.

The room was lovely, great workout room, the staff were all so kind and friendly.

Ok so we arrived with no king bed with a bathtub. Put us in a room with 2 queens. Not what we wanted. The restaurant was closed under renovations. I wasn’t told that as we would have booked some other hotel as we were there for a birthday dinner. This kind of service is totally unacceptable.

Clean and quiet room. Staff was friendly. Unfortunately restaurant was closed for renos but lots of other options nearby.

The hotel has a beautiful harbor view and an excellent location right on the waterfront. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was consistently good. Breakfast at the Sparo restaurant was excellent. On our first day, due to the Christmas holidays, the restaurant was closed and a continental breakfast was offered instead. Unfortunately, it was quite limited and rather poor in terms of variety, and not comparable to the full restaurant breakfast. Special thanks to Lisa at the front desk for her kindness, responsiveness, and help throughout our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Pros: Clean, quiet room; friendly front desk staff (Liza); great location Cons: Heating/cooling made the room stuffy; shower setup is awkward (door is on the wrong side); room lighting and decor is strange; room was supposed to be “harbour view” but it was a view of the entrance area/parking lot; breakfast ends at 10am (11am would be better)

Checking as easy and our room was clean and had a great nautical theme
