Gorgeously updated historic hotel smack in the midst of downtown. Busy bar district at night, but quiet inside. Upstairs from the pub, but not a sound made it to us on the second floor. Stunningly restored, and a spooky bit of lore about it. Comfortable beds, nice and dark at night, great location AND secure parking out back for a few vehicles. Would have loved to have asked the staff for some stories or history but didn't want to pry. Continental breakfast was lower end, but the room it's in is absolutely worth the cup of coffee.

Centrally located in downtown Saskatoon. That said, while it's close to many amenities, there were panhandlers and drunks out front. It didn't feel particularly safe. As for the hotel and room, I wouldn't rate this place at more than a 4 or 5 out of 10. Bathroom was old, small and dated. The sink was tiny. The carpet had waves in it, and the mattress / pillows were terrible. The place just felt dingy. The breakfast was nothing more than a small container of yogurt, a muffin and coffee. And what a view from our window. Check out the photos. How on earth they could be rated an average 8.4 stars is beyond me! I have to question the legitimacy of the Expedia ratings. The hotel needs a makeover. We would never stay here if coming to Saskatoon in the future.

Rooms were extremely clean and everything worked. The water pressure and drains worked very well. Breakfast and balcony were just ok. The service exceeded my expectations. The free secure gated parking was a huge bonus along with location if you want to checkout some of what the area had to offer because it’s all walkable and safe.

This hotel fit our budget and we wanted to be downtown, so we wouldn't have to use our car. It also had free parking and free (minimal) breakfast, and we appreciated not having to pay anything extra. It is a historic old hotel and it reflects that. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was friendly. I wouldn’t stay there again but my husband says he would. There you have it!

The check-in staff were weak on customer care. The building has seen better days. Our first room had a soggy carpet. Our replacement room had a drippy faucet. The so-called breakfast was just cold baked goods and not impressive. But the rooms were clean. The cleaning staff deserve praise. The security throughout the facility was rather tighter than expected until we noticed the characters hanging out around the community. In sum, we felt it was overpriced for it was.

The room had two queen beds, a living room area, and a big bathroom.
The shower had the perfect pressure, which is very important to me.
Also, I appreciated the coffee maker in the room. I don't know about your family but I usually am waiting for them to rise and shine. I was able to enjoy a coffee and go sit out on the deck. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you think the parking may be a problem. It is not. The location is great for dining out, going for walks, shopping and for the nightlife (if you partake). If you like character hotels, this is the one.
I will stay there again.

Had a two night stay in July 2026. The hotel is an older property with classic charm. It does have that older building smell, but it did not bother us. The rooms we had were small but functional and fine for our stay. The first room (118) had a mattress that sagged and the A/C did not work on the second day which saw us move to a different room (207) for the second night. That room had a good mattress and good A/C. The staff were very accommodating and immediately got us the second room and the next morning looked into repairing the A/C in the first room. The other point to consider is the street people lingering outside, but it's really not too bad and you see this in every downtown. Those are the downsides here. The good part of this hotel is it's affordable price, central location, helpful staff, free breakfast (coffee, fruit and muffins, but it's free), secure parking, outside deck, and the pub. We found it suitable for a short weekend stay and would stay here again.

I ordered and prepaid 1 room for Saturday night with 2 queen beds, cause there were 2 people sleeping in the same room, but the wanted their own bed, cause they are not in a relation, just colleagues
When they arrived there was only 1 room left with a single twin bed!!!!
They booked and payed out of their own pocket a second room !! Not happy

What a wonderfully place to stay. It is not in the greatest part of town but they go above and beyond to make sure your safe and feel it from checkin, to your rooms to parking. Such a beautiful place inside. A little musty in the rooms but it’s an old hotel and the staff friendliness and helpfulness is top notch. We will definitely be back!
