Delicious food. Wonderful people. Beautiful rooms. Amazing location. So so helpful staff and owner. Honestly I cannot say anything but praise for this entire stay. I would go back for sure.

The hotel is in a brilliant central location in the old town just down the hill from the basilica. All the main city sites are easily walkable. The hotel is full of character & very quaint. The service is excellent & the staff go out of their way to help you. Free coffee & tea & water in reception too.

Staff Oswaldo (driver), Estafonia & Susan were all great and helpful. Very clean room. Not much variety on breakfast options & as per owner "No Mas!" screaming at the staff not to give anything to paying guest - only maximum of 2 cups of coffee per person & not being offered exactly on the 9 o'clock dot (end of breakfast time). Embarrassing situation for pleasant/helpful staff working at the hotel of informing that she can't give anymore coffee. Our driver Oswaldo was very accommodating and pleasant. Overall - working staff are great and room is comfortable & clean but not a good experience on how the owner deals with her staff in front of the paying guests.

This is a beautiful hotel that is spotless. The environment is amazing, but the people who attend to you are even more so. From the moment I was picked up from the airport until I was driven back, I experienced the greatest of hospitality and care. Everyone is so informed about the city and country which assisted greatly in planning excursions. I loved this experience and all the people that cared for me and made me feel at home.

Great location, character and staff

Clean room. Incredible staff. Great breakfast. In the centre of ‘old’ Quito and minutes away from Plaza Grande which is rich in history and people.

A hidden gem in the very heart of the historic district. An old Spanish colonial house with an open courtyard. Walk 5min to the Basilica and the Plaza Grande. Lots of good restaurants around too. Full of green plants lovingly cared for (even polishing the leaves) by the staff. Mariam and her staff were super friendly and looked after me really well. It was truly a pleasure to stay there and I look forward to another visit.

An immaculately maintained historical building with a wonderful staff. Our room was clean and beautiful as was the property as a whole. A great location on Avenida Venezuela between Plaza Grande and Basilica del Voto Nacional. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The location is excellent, and the hotel itself is fantastic—more of an Airbnb-style setup than a traditional stay. It’s within easy walking distance of all the top spots in Old Town, including the Basílica del Voto Nacional, Independence Square, and the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco. I’d definitely stay here again if I ever return.

Beautiful hotel set in an old style colonial property. Close to historic centre. We had a lovely stay and were looked after well by the staff however the experience of others in our group was not positive (cockroach in room and issue required a battle to resolve). Breakfast options were limited. Bathrooms in some rooms had a foul smell as poor ventilation.

The hotel was amazing. The hotel owners (Oswaldo and his wife) were so very kind and they tended to our every need. The excursions which they provide are very helpful and when we need help they provide us with it very well.

This was an amazing place to stay!! The history of the building was worth the stay itself, but it was clean and quiet. The managers made us feel like family!

My 5 stars are sincere. If I'm lucky enough to be able to return to Quito I would stay here again without hesitation. The location is excellent, directly between Plaza Grande and La Basilica, the colonial building is very nicely restored, the room was comfortable, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. As an independent hotel, it was abundantly clear that they were doing all they could to give guests the best possible experience. Hands-down the best stay we had on our 2 week trip in Colombia and Ecuador.

This is an incredibly charming hotel. Each room is creatively and uniquely decorated. The staff treated us like family, calling us by our first names each time they saw us. Breakfast is wonderful, as is the customer service. There was not a single thing that wasn't first rate. I highly recommend the Hotel La Basílica, and if we ever return to Quito, this will be where we stay. Special shout-out to Media, Josalie and Byron.

Nice small hotel near to the centre of town. The airport collection and return was very efficient and well managed. The rooms are clean and spacious. The owner is nice and friendly and can offer suggestions for things to do.
