Some like the uniformity of a Hotel chain, I prefer to take a risk on something quirky and Peckforton Castle did not disappoint! Perched on the top of hill surrounded by a forest, from the Gatehouse into the courtyard this was stunning and a fabulous place to rest for a night. My bedroom was in a tower and although small it was charming and themed around Alice ( see pic ) The restaurant was pleasant although I chose to eat outside as - well, why wouldn't you? And wandering around the Great Hall and wine cellar ( now a bar ) gave me an appetite for well cooked food and great service. I slept really well ( unusual for me ) and woke to a proper breakfast, freshly cooked and served at table... Old fashioned service but made the stay! I will be back, my wife is not amused that she didn't get to share the memorable experience.

All I can say about this amazing hotel is that it’s simply wonderful. I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the staff. The castle was so big that I got lost several times, but the staff kindly helped me each time. Even though I didn’t have a restaurant reservation, they still provided breakfast and dinner without any issue, and I’m truly grateful for that. I would definitely love to stay here again on a special occasion.

All I can say about this amazing hotel is that it’s simply wonderful. I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the staff. The castle was so big that I got lost several times, but the staff kindly helped me each time. Even though I didn’t have a restaurant reservation, they still provided breakfast and dinner without any issue, and I’m truly grateful for that. Amazing setting and beautiful grounds
Great place for wedding celebrations
However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid.
Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu

This is an amazing place to stay , there really is nowhere else quite like it . Rooms are lovely and in keeping with a castle and the grounds are beautiful. Breakfast is excellent.

Came for a wedding, and what a stunning venue!
Be aware that the carpark is a short walk from the castle itself (for those wearing heels - there is gravel and a hill!), although people/luggage can be dropped off at reception.
The building can appear a bit of a maze, but is incredible - had a great time exploring after a very tatsy breakfast (only got slightly lost!). Room was a good size, comfy bed, and surprisingly good water pressure in the shower!

The staff were all very helpful, the room was very clean with good facilities. Only difficulty I had being slightly disabled was I found the shower extremely slippery to use a non slip mat would have been useful. Food was excellent

Looking quite tired now in some of the rooms and have had to report maintenance requirements in different on my last 3 stays.
Change of policy to not offer breakfast as part of a package without any change in price is sneaky and wasn't communicated at booking.

Service and experience was Well below standard expected for this price hotel, had better from budget hotels.
No coffee capsules in the room for coffee machine, burnt toast, dirty breakfast bowls, incorrect breakfast orders, drinks served from broken glasses, ran out of breakfast cereal, very stingy on inclusive breakfast.

This is the second time we have stayed at Peckforton Castle
On this occasion we had a nicer room with a fabulous view of the front lawn. We visited the wine cellar bar but were disappointed to find that we were unable to pursue a menu over pre dinner drinks , because they were “ printed daily “ it would have been nice to look at it before being seated
Dinner in the brasserie was disappointing on this visit and had deteriorated significantly since our previous meal there. The salmon starter was served on crackers which were tasteless, the homemade soup was good though. My ragu was poor with overcooked pasta and my partners chicken Caesar was poorly presented but tasted ok
Previously the Asian chef had curry on the menu which was excellent and the food overall was better than on this occasion
However it’s a wonderful hotel set in fabulous grounds and beautiful rooms. All the staff were friendly and helpful
With one or 2 tweeks it would have been amazing; oh and don’t have GB News on in the breakfast room !

First time staying at hotel. First impressions good in general. Only complaint is the stairlifts. Trying to get my disabled partner to breakfast in the upstairs restaurant was virtually impossible. One stairlift had been left at top of stairs with no way to bring it down and other stairlift was out of order. Why can't the breakfast be served in the ground floor restaurant? Especially as its near the only elevator in the building?

Went for afternoon tea which was lovely. Also stayed the weekend and dined in both the bistro and restaurant. Lovely food and tasing menu with wine flight was a great experience.
