Sat and worked in the pub downstairs and had amazing beer for 3 nights straight. The pub is lively, and you dont feel like a solo/lonely traveler.
They give coupons for drinks/snacks, and food as well. Very warm hospitality!

Two nights 8/24-8/25, I recently stayed at the Steam Engine Hostel and had a fantastic experience. I arrived late at night, and although I was tired from my journey, the night shift staff member (possibly named Demetrius) made the check-in process seamless and stress-free. He went above and beyond to help me settle in, showing exceptional kindness and compassion, which I will never forget.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, making my stay even more pleasant. Overall, the Steam Engine Hostel provided a welcoming and hospitable environment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

トランクなど荷物を入れるゲージがとにかく小さい。
仕方ないから枕元に置いた。
ベッドに入ると室内照明が皆無に近いのでスマホのライトを利用した。
だめなところを挙げるときりがないが立地だけは申し分ないので寝に帰るだけの場所と割り切る分にはコスパとしては良いと思う。

ビッグベンも近く、交通に関しては問題ないです。
しかし、3段ベッドはやはりきつい。真ん中の段だったのですが、ベッドの上に座ることもできないです。ホステルの従業員は親切で、泊まってる人もフレンドリーでしたが、やはり3段ベッドは…
シャワーも排水が遅かったり、トイレも簡単な扉だけなので臭いが廊下に広がったりすることも。
1階のパブはそんなにうるさくもならないですが、少し値段が高め？かな。
ホステルの談話室のようなものがないので、よそで買ってきたものは食べるスペースがないですので、晩御飯等は外食になってしまうかと。
朝御飯はパンとハム、チーズ、シリアル、牛乳、コーヒーです。

ランベスノース駅から歩いて5分ほどとアクセスは良いものの、部屋は期待外れ。
トイレ、風呂場は床がよくびしょびしょになっており、あまり清潔感があるとは言えない。ベットも木のベットで、3段の一番上になってしまったためにギシギシ揺れて寝心地は良くなかった。

It was close to the subway and good pubs nearby and places to eat.
But I arrived in a heatwave. And there was NO aircon or even any opening windows in the bunk rooms so we literally sweated all night even with fans. Was very hard to sleep in a pool of sweat. Also the bunks were clean, but very close together so impossible to even sit up in them. Felt a bit like coffins lol.
Bathrooms were unisex and pretty icky, very dirty and rubbish and towels everywhere, loos were gross, pee on the seat etc, which unfortunately is what you get when sharing with males. Showers were hot and good pressure.
The downstairs was nice decor but no food available until 9am so no breakfast, and only limited menu. Staff were okay, checking in was smooth.
Couldn't give me an extra pillow although I asked nicely, and seemed pretty blase about hostel side of things.
All up not the nicest hotel I've stayed in but ok if not in a heatwave.

The location is great with many bus and subway transportation options. The female staff that checked me in was so unfriendly to the point that it made me hesitate to go down to the pub for drinks. I did end up visiting the pub a few times and the other staff were fine. Expedia listed optional English breakfast for £9.9 but it was £11.
The room was very crammed but fine for the price. The bed seemed clean but I got bug bites on my legs. I really hope they aren’t bedbug bites… There is only one light switch for the entire room of 12 with no individual bedside lighting. The lockers are pretty small and you need to bring your own lock or buy one from them. The bathrooms are not super nice but again, fine for the price. You may be uncomfortable as a female though bc the two bathrooms are gym type showers for both genders. The amount of showers was decent, but definitely not enough toilets and sinks for everyone staying. You have to bring your own towel or rent one for £5. The listing said they would have soap, shampoo, and hair dryers but they didn’t. The internet almost never worked. I ended up having to buy an extra eSIM bc of this.
Overall it’s okay for the price and location, but I’ll look for somewhere else next time.

Escolhi esta opção p ficar perto do hotel dos meus amigos. É ok, bem calmo, não tem muitas opções p comer à noite, mas é seguro e perto do metro. O hostel fica em cima do pub. Pelo preço, eu não esperava muito, mas me arrependi pela economia. O quarto é muito apertado para tanta gente, as camas fazem barulho, os lockers são pequenos, mal tem espaço para tirar o sapato. O banheiro é a pior parte, haviam 3 quartos no andar, mas só 2 toiletes e 3 chuveiros, cuja agua de um box entrava no outro e certamente não eram limpos com frequencia, estavam muito sujos! Não troquei uma palavra com o staff, não são tão receptivos.

I felt really uncomfortable the whole night,the room was unbearably hot, and I had to sleep with 3 strange men as a lone woman, didn't feel very safe- I just couldn't wait to check out and leave.
The bed was comfortable and clean.
