Room cleaned daily, box of tissues not replaced, no spare toilet roll left, staff helpful. Breakfast order taken and waited until 5 other guests were served approximately 25 minutes before asking if we’d been forgotten. Poached eggs were perfect on Saturday, Sunday but requested new eggs on Monday as too snotty and undercooked for my taste. Husband loved the mushrooms. Parking available. Gardens are a treat. The hotel I feel would be somewhere I’d like to return to but because of the squeaky floor boards and very thin walls, sleeping was disturbed by this and a guest not being able to find his room and also an alarm which another guest had to remove the battery from to stop it as no member of staff or security were on site. A little worrying to say the least.

Dit hotel is natuurlijk prachtig historisch, maar wij vonden de prijs-kwaliteit niet goed. Erg duur voor de kwaliteit van bijvoorbeeld onze badkamer. Deze was te vergelijken met een badkamer in een oude stacaravan. De kamer zelf was wel mooi, klein maar fijn. Ontbijt was goed, maar voor bijna 500 euro voor 3 nachten verwacht je net wat meer.

Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast ok. Not enough fruit variety. Bathroom very small. Beautiful building and very good position in Sidmouth.

Staff were lovely, room was small, especially the bathroom but nice, nice and quiet, great location 5 mins walk to the beach. The only bad thing was my other half had breakfast and said not nice was overcooked. And limited parking but right outside so that’s a bonus

Great location for the country and seaside. Everyone worked hard to make the stay great.

Room spacious, lovely clean bathroom. Breakfast fresh to order. I have coeliac disease so they provided me with a gluten free cereal. All the staff were very helpful. We travelled by train so no need for parking but there was ample space. Few minutes walk from the seafront. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, close to the beach and an easy short walk to shops. Very helpful staff. I enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Hotel modern and staff friendly. Liked the room for both style and comfort. The only annoyance is having to download app to park as it’s not on ringo and then scan the code from the hotel front desk to pay otherwise it doesn’t charge the hotel rate.

Breakfast was very filling with lots of options. Service was quick and staff very friendly and attentive. Room was older, as expected, but a little small for moving about with our suitcases. Building was lovely inside and brought us back to a previous gentler era. So happy to have safe, free parking next to the building. The only thing that I would have liked would have been a cloth on the table for evening dining. This would have made the evening more special for our anniversary dinner.

The staff that serve the breakfast were wonderful. Attentive and friendly. However, the female receptionist was on her phone and was quite rude when I asked some questions. I paid the amount due to wanting to use the gym and pool. The gym equipment was awful. Bike not working, tredmill broken and weights and gym ball was filthy which stained my clothes. Pool was lovely but if I'd know about the gym I would have got a better value room elsewhere. My room was clean but the bed was so uncomfrlortable matress was lumpy and springs stuck in my back so I did not sleep both nights. I was visiting Devon for a course so needed sleep to be on good form and this did not happen and after a 6 hour drive even that did not send me to sleep as the bed was so bad. Also the furniture creaked and the heating did not work. Not happy and would not reccomend.

Very pleasant stay even though only a couple of days. The staff were very freindly. Most enjoyable.
