Cold room heating not working properly, hotel knew about this yet sold us the room. Hotel very anti-family with regard to use of pool. Unless you wish to use the pool as a family very early in the morning or in the you have no chance of using pool. Hotel doesn’t tell you this until after check in not at booking.

Been a couple of times, still very nice but starting to look tired in areas. I know it’s early in the golf season but range was in poor nick, no tees on the driving range and needed tlc!

The staff were exceptional.. kind, helpful and nothing was too much. The room was tired, the sink didn't drain well, the door had a large dent that looked like it had been kicked in and just then general condition was a bit tired but the hotel, breakfast and grounds were stunning. The pool was wonderful and we could swim without buying additional spa access which was nice. The female changing rooms laked areas of privacy to change, only having one small changing room. It would be nice to have more changing cubicles for women who aren't as confident getting naked in front of strangers!

The room had a window with a massive daft and looked as though it may fall out of the frame

Terrible sleep, which whilst guest behaviour is not the hotels fault, the duration it took to deal with the situation was possibky far more drawn out than it should have been. A guest domestic took place in the room next door just before 1am, took over 90 mins for the guest to be removed from the hotel and because of being on the ground floor, this guest was banging on the windows of the room once he was outside. Towel rail in the room didn't work which was disappointing as had wet swimwear from the Spa to dry and meant the bathroom was quite cold. Food in restaurant was average and the premium dishes were remarkably small portioned - the duck stated Duck breast, but was merely a slither of a duck breast. The dining credit I didnt feel was clear that couldn't be used towards drinks (food only) so financially was worse off when paying the remainder of the bill. All points raised at check-out but reception staff didn't seem to interested, an quick sorry about that, and more concerned about being able to start checking out the next guest. I wouldn't return nor recommend a stay. Gave 3* as the guest behaviour isnt the fault of the hotel and overall stay adequate.

Nothing good to say .. a bit of advice though.. stay at home , go to your local Leisure Centre and save your money

Staff very courteous. room ok. but noisy in corridors with dogs barking not an extensive range of food choices and slightly expensive. spa facilities ok but signs of wear and tear in rooms

Room was good , and the bar staff were outstanding- the young lads really work hard and have a lot of patience. This is second time we stayed and both times we have had same experience in all aspects. The food being the main issue There is an absolute bare minimum available for a child with dairy allergy. I asked the restaurant staff if they could do brocoli with no butter and woman said no because the brocoli/greens already comes buttered. My son ended up having plain pasta. They did make chicken nuggets for him which was much appreciated, however the nuggets were ridged and hard to bite into for a 4 year old , the batter was too salty as well. There are no deserts for dairy allergies and they didnt have apple and mango juice (same happened last time we stayed). My sons pasta looked like it was kept under a heat lamp for too long (crispy on top and normal underneath. My ravioli looked the same and was below average for the cost !! My friend who stayed there same night , ended up with food poisoning after having the stake pie. Overall its a a beautiful hotel with a nice pool and beautiful interiors. Staff are lovely too , but the chef needs sacked and menu updated. There are so many hotels near by who offer an amazing, home made, allergy and vegan friendly options , i dont understand why yours is so outdated. The food seems precooked hours before serving and out the packed rather than freshly made.

Excellent stay very relaxing!

Everything exceeded our expectations, well, except for the pillows which were so soft they were almost non-existent! The hotel was grand but somehow cosy, spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the facilities were great. The pool was bigger than it looked in the photos although the slide was more of a shuffle! Games room had a table tennis table, a pool table and an arcade machine. There was a dart board and darts but the flights were too damaged to play with. The grounds were lovely to walk in, especially because we were lucky enough to be there when it snowed. Best of all were the staff who, without exception, were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, helpful and went above and beyond. We'll definitely be staying there again.

Flooded bathroom floor reported to reception, only a thank you for informing them, flooded again throughout the night, floor soaking , spa out of order without notifying us to give the option to cancel or amend the booking . No breakfast staff about had to wait ages to be seated.
