Stayed here for 4 nights in June 26.
Staff, particularly Emma were especially helpful, proactive and really great for a chat.
We ate here a few nights after Monday, as no food service on Mondays.
Despite the June heat wave, the room wasn't too bad. No cooling fan (not that we have that many heatwaves), but a damp sheet quickly did the trick. I sleep with earplugs, and there is a road outside, although it's very quiet, you can still hear cars going past. This adds to the village atmosphere IMO.
I appreciated the room had a desk, so I could catch up on work in evenings when needed.
There's also a village shop in the car park, which is well stocked and quite large for a small shop (fridges, alcohol, sweets, basics, treats. Plenty!). Opening times are:
09:00 - 18:30, Mon - Fri
09:00 - 16:00, Sat
09:00 - 12:00, Sun
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and getting to know the village, which is well connected to local roads and was very close to where I was working.

The room was small but clean. It was located above the bar so some noise till closing time. My visit was spoilt be inconsiderate guests slamming doors and loud tv in the next room.
The food was very nice as was the beer.
A good pub/Hotel for the price.
Would stay again.

Asked for a heater as the one in the room wasn't working and was told that one would be provided but it wasn't.
Hiding the exterior access door to the rooms behind a scabby old fence without any sign saying access to the rooms was not a great idea and nor was having an unusual door opening mechanism that implied it was faulty and that you were locked out.
Otherwise it was pretty good.

Very competitive price for a comfortable room. Accommodation( total of 4 rooms) was adjacent to and accessed via the village pub , but we did not hear a thing ! Nice outdoor space for relaxing or dining/ drinking.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again.
Only considerations are staircase up to accommodation and breakfast is not served in the pub.
