ヴァーヴ ホテル

1809年ごろ建築の建物をリノベーションして使っているようです。そういう歴史ある建物が好きな方にはオススメです。逆に古いので窓の締まりが少し良くなかったり、部屋にたどり着くまでに段差が結構あります。バリアフリーが必要な身体状況の方には向きません。 付近の建物はどこまで歩いても素敵な家が続きます。映画のスクリーンの中の主人公になったような気がする街です。 アンティーク好きには特におすすめ。 すぐ近くでもないけど、歩いて6〜7分のところにコンビニもあります。不便ではありません。

Breakfast was very limited, but cheap. Restaurants were not open which was annoying because it was a major factor in choosing the hotel. I had no car and after travelling all day and being a single female I didn't fancy walking into town for food, therefore had to order takeaway. However, room was adequate and bed was very comfortable so at least I slept well.

El hotel es la típica casita inglesa muy acogedora, las habitaciones son pequeñas pero muy cucas, al parecer antiguamente creo que hace más de 20 años pero no estoy seguro se llamaba Shakespeare hotel y era conocido tanto en Bedford como en Londres. Debían de festejar bodas y cosas por el estilo. Bueno a lo que iba las chicas con las que coincidido a las tardes encantadoras y super amables siempre dispuestas a ayudar, pero luego está BAZ, Baz es camarero, recepcionista, cocinero en ocasiones, y yo diría que es el camarero de la vieja escuela que ha desaparecido o está desapareciendo. Este hombre hindú no perdía la sonrisa nunca siempre con su uniforme impecable, la verdad que echaba de menos ver un camarero de estos ya que yo soy hostelero y en San Sebastián que es de donde soy yo la verdad lo que es camareros profesionales escasean por no decir que no hay. La verdad que muchas gracias por el trato que me has dado durante estos cinco días. Gente así empresas tanto pequeñas como grandes deberían de saber valorar y diría yo que pagar más que el resto que aunque pueda no parecer justo, si lo que tú aportas es superior al resto aunque tengas igual rango creo que debería ser premiado. No hay que esperar a subir el sueldo a este gran profesional hindú cuando diga que se va deberían de subirselo ya es un verdadero crack.

Happy with the service from the staff and also reception.i do believe the bed could have been more comfortable. Tom was always clean and water topped up. Very good having a fridge in the room. Happy with everything install but would suggest a new need

I'm sadly only giving it 3 stars for the hotel and minus 2 stars for the massively over complicated communication path with hotel management to get double charging refunded. Lacking customer focus. PROPRIETORS - Seldom, if ever, on-site. Only a front desk person. Was told Management very rarely come to Bedford and ONLY work out of the Peterborough office. And, they are only contactable by email. The front desk staff are NOT authorised to give a contact number for Peterborough HQ. (Look it up on the Peterborough hotel website the phone number has been erased!!). The staff are scared witless. BOOKING - 1 double room ROOMS - Comfortable, Warm, Well Heated, Mini-Fridge BATHROOMS - En-suite with Shower. Large bathroom which contained the wardrobe and drawers, probably because the room was big enough to fit a wardrobe in. FACILITIES - Coffee, Tea, Biscuits. Mini milk cartons (never enough) BREAKFAST - they DO NOT cooked breakfast (and this has been mirrored as a minus in a lot of other comments) because they don’t have the kitchens working+staff in the morning. DIY cereal from dispensers, fruit and muffins. The front desk man - BAZ - then brought us croissants, toast, baked beans (microwaved?) and jam. LOCATION - close to the town centre with a carpark at front. PARKING - No issues with finding a space I suspect some cars may have to double up so they ask you to leave the keys at the front desk if they need to “car tetris” to get theirs out.

All staffs are very nice, room is clean, located near the railway station.

Hotel room wasn’t overly good. Despite being advertised as being soundproof, I could hear people in other rooms nearby. Bathroom was extremely tiny. The male reception staff weren’t particularly friendly and the one who checked me out was very rude. Towels in the room were tiny and only suitable for a small child. Bar staff were very friendly which was a plus. When I checked in, the hotel took a copy of my Driving Licence for security purposes. On checkout, I asked for it to be destroyed but the receptionist couldn’t find it and was incredibly dismissive and rude when I protested and he just walked away. This is very poor and, from a legal standpoint, a breach of GDPR which I am taking further. Absolutely would not stay in this place again and wouldn’t recommend it.

Hotel was fine would stay

The room was lovely; however, the shower cubicle was a bit small, so for a larger person, not much room to move. The bath towels were too small, so again, for a larger person, the towel didn't fully cover. The extractor fan was hit & miss about when it would come on, and it didn't turn off unless we shut the bathroom door, which was odd. The service from the young lady who checked us in was absolutely lovely, couldn't fault her at all. The carpet leading up to the rooms on the 2nd floor is wearing a bit thin & there are patches. Overall though, it was a nice hotel to stay in & i would stay there again.
