My wife and our two young children arrived at 6pm to be told that the prepaid family room, booked and paid for two months in advance, was unavailable because the hotel had overbooked. That is a breach of the booking we paid for, and the explanation given ("it's what the airlines do") was wholly inadequate. In a frustrated and passive aggressive tone, the male reception staff member even said “I’ve had to deal with this stuff all day!” My wife was left stranded hours from home with one autistic child, while the reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful. The options offered were unreasonable: 1) separate rooms for a mother and young children (expecting one of the children to stay in a room on her own!), 2) a twin room for two children to share a single bed, or 3) find another hotel. After escalation, the hotel eventually arranged alternative accommodation in a Ramada hotel 10 minute’s drive away, but it was inferior, in a less suitable location, and required my wife to walk from a separate carpark in an undesirable area at night with children and luggage. Ultimately, the hotel failed to provide a reasonable alternative promptly, and its handling of the matter fell far below any acceptable standard of care. We incurred distress, inconvenience, and a clear loss of the service we contracted for. We will not return and I would urge anyone to reconsider using this hotel.

The staff at the hotel made my stay - from the gentleman at reception who checked me in and changed my room immediately on my request due to the noise outside - to the lovely Millie at the bar who helped me on numerous occasions with food orders and was always so pleasant, to the blonde girl at the bar who helped me watch the Bournemouth 🍒v Fulham game (hope she enjoys Uni and her new live living in Bournemouth) and finally Catherine who organised a takeaway away box of food for my journey home, due to me leaving before the lunch buffet was due to be put out - as I had to leave early to catch a flight. The hotel should be grateful to have such great staff that provide such excellent customer service,

Great location on the edge of the city so easy to access from the motorway, with plenty of parking which was free for residents. Breakfast was disappointing, limited choice and a few of the hot options weren't restocked during the time we were there.

Lovely hotel. Room was a nice size, beds comfortable. Also pool and gym area was a lovely additional perk!

Good

Clean, comfortable and quiet room. Good WiFi, TV and kettle. I would have liked there to have been some decaffinated coffee in the room. Also, I wish I had known to bring a padlock for the changing rooms for the gym and pool. There wasn't one available for me to use and so I had to put all my clothes in a plastic bag and leave it by the side of the pool

Good connection room and friendly staff, good for swimming

The pool / gym facilities are a real highlight of this hotel and the kids loved having a swim. Sadly I was disappointed with many other aspects. The hotel is well maintained but the cleanliness of the room we were in was questionable! The kettle was dusty and had stale water sat in the bottom. As it was I couldn’t make a drink as the cups and tea spoons were so dusty and dirty and had either never been used and just gathered dust or grime or had not been changed from a previous occupier. We were here for 2 nights but housekeeping changed towels but nothing else - no beds made, no bins emptied. This was despite leaving the card out asking for our room to be refreshed. There were also used cups / wine glasses left outside my room for 2 days that were not ours and had either been left by another resident or house keeping. Either way they should not have been there for that amount of time. Breakfast doesn’t begin till 8am at the weekends which we found to be a little late. Also the queues at the hot food were really long straight away, which probably means that many others thought it started too late as well. The staff were friendly, beds comfortable but rather small and a real lack of drawer storage and no space for toiletries in the bathroom. Overall an okay stay for a quick stop over stay but I wouldn’t rush back.

Clean room

When checking in I was told renovations were going on however wasn’t told this before I booked. I had to carry my heavy bags up and down many flights of stairs, for someone who suffers with fibromyalgia this wasn’t ideal and I ended up in a lot of pain which was unpleasant for me ! Hotel also very noisy. Such a shame as I’ve stayed here a few times before and loved it hence why I returned.

Everything

The room was very clean and comfortable. However, availability of food at 9pm in the restaurant was very poor. There was nothing left for us to eat except some chips and garlic bread.

A very beautiful hotel! Clean and the beds are so comfortable! Strongly recommended!!
