Lovely hotel, lovely staff and wonderful breakfast. Such a cool historical hotel! I really enjoyed the three nights I stayed here. Fantastic location for sight seeing too.

Great old hotel, come experience a unique 300 year old structure, fully modernized with all the comforts. Restaurant was closed for dinner but breakfast wonderful, fresh cooked eggs, bread local jams and honey.

The lack of conveniences can be excused in a 265 year continuously operated family hotel of charm and character. In trudging up the slanting stairs remember that Arturo Toscanini and Richard Wagner made the same trip heard the same squeaks and squeals and be grateful to be in the same space. Another rare bonus is that a seated full breakfast is included.

The service was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, next to the Opera House. The old part of the hotel was charming and I imagine the rooms were very nice. The room I was given was in the newer section and very bland and not very comfortable. It was not consistent with the pictures shown when I booked here. I was not happy with the value and would not go back.

Wurderschönes Hotel. Zimmer etwas klein, aber sehr funktional und gemütlich. Kein Aufzug, d.h. Kofferschleppen. Frühstück a la Card.

Tolles altes Haus, original erhalten! Super Lage, freundliches Personal und alles rundum stimmig (zum alten Haus und Interieur auch das passende Silbergeschirr 👍)

It is the perfect place if you like a cozy, old house feel, historical landmark to stay in. You pay a premium for that, and I was happy to pay it for my pilgrimage to Wagner sites. My room was individual and these never get the same love as the other bigger ones, but I have no complaints. Beautiful common areas and dining room. Very friendly staff.

Das Hotel liegt absolut zentral in der Altstadt von Bayreuth in einem liebevoll erhaltenen historischen Gebäude. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten liegen fußläufig. Die Parkplätze sind kostenpflichtig, preiswerter sind die in der unmittelbaren Nähe gelegenen öffentlichen Parkhäuser. Wir hatten ein wunderschönes geräumiges Zimmer, alles war sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Geärgert haben wir uns über das Hotelfrühstück. Es gab alles auf Bestellung, die Auswahl war dürftig, das Personal sichtlich überfordert. Dieses war einem Hotel dieser Kategorie nicht angemessen.

Ældre, men charmerende hotel. Mange trapper, ingen elevator. Stort problem er mulighed for at spise. Hotellets restaurant er lukket mandag og tirsdag. Ligesom mange andre restauranter i byen. Dette oplyses ikke gennem Hotels com. Dejlig morgenmad og ualmindelig god service i morgenmadsrestauranten . Generelt er Bayreuth ikke særlig turist venlig. Alt er skrevet på tysk. Ingen taler engelsk.

Unsere Buchung wurde beim Check-In nicht gefunden, das war schon suboptimal. Das Personal war hier aber sehr nett und flexibel und hat uns auch ein Upgrade gegeben. Bis auf eine Dame, die vehement forderte, dass wir unseren Zimmerschlüssel abgeben, war das Personal grundsätzlich sehr nett. Besonders ärgerlich war, dass unser Zimmer nicht gemacht wurde, obwohl wir ab 10.30 Uhr unterwegs waren. Dafür wurde sich auch nicht entschuldigt. Für ein Superior Zimmer war auch die Toilette nicht angemessen. Hier gab es keinen Mülleimer, die Toilette selbst war etwas betagt, die Tapete blättert allmählich ab und generell riecht die Toilette etwas feucht und muffig. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, mehr auch nicht, wenn auch sehr übersichtlich portioniert. Das geht ebenfalls besser. Es war mein zweiter Aufenthalt im Anker und dieses Mal auch mein letzter. Schade, denn Bausubstanz, Historie und Lage des Hauses sind wirklich prima.
