Clean rooms, ideal location within walking distance for most things or metro located 2 minutes walk, freindly staff, only downside is quite dated rooms could do with refresh

The area was so bad.

The pictures advertised for the hotel are different to what you actually get. The room totally different. Room had a massive crack going down the wall. Black mold in the shower. Dirt and grim all round the corners of the room. The lift can only hold 2 people at a time max weight 220kg. But the staff were really friendly and helpfull

Sehr nettes hilfsbereites Personal. Zimmer für jemand der Luxus will nicht geeignet. Wir waren hauptsächlich zum Schlafen im Zimmer. Dafür hat es vollkommen ausgereicht. Zimmer wurde täglich geputzt. Es hat immer frisch und sauber gerochen.

Alles sehr sauber.Badezimmer sehr hell Jeden Tag neue Handtücher. Personal sehr freudlich

En un mot : Rudimentaire ! Manque d’équipement. Pas de frigo mobilier vieillot. Odeur désagréable, on dirait du moisi. J’ai comme l’impression que les draps ne sont pas remplacés après le départ des voyageurs, après avoir retrouvé plein de cheveux sur lit et sous l’oreiller. Tête de lit crados. Mal insonorisé et ma chambre donnait sur l’avenue. Sensibles au bruit, s’abstenir. Pour conclure, ma pire expérience de voyageur. Pourtant l’établissement est bien situé proche du métro et je ne comprends il y a pourtant du potentiel mais c’est fort regrettable. Un téléphone qui ne sert a rien, certainement un d’objet déco. Finalement je n’aurais passé qu’une seule nuit au lieu des trois prévues.

For the price you pay please don’t expect a 5star facilities. Unfortunately place is an old building. Smells of smoke as soon as you walk out in the hallway. The bed is not so comfortable. It’s a 2single bed put together. Shower is okay. Clean but only curtains to separate it from the toilet. Location is good for public transport. And grabbing breakfast from neighbouring shops is not a hustle. Overall if you are only going to sleep in it’s a good location. Beware don’t be too late out as Omonia looks a bit rough place to be roaming around at late nights.

You get what you pay for. Price was good considering the central location and facilities

The hotel is old but very clean, with nice staff. The area is a regular downtown, big city area, so not very touristy but fine otherwise. There are several cafes/bakeries around to buy a cheap breakfast plus a tasty gyro place very close by. Subway is one block away as well, but it's walkable to the Parthenon (30 min)

The Team were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The Hotel itself is centrally located and easy to get to anywhere from there It is quaint but probably needs a lock of paint to modernise the hotel as the decor is a bit dated. Front Street rooms can be noisy, but that’s more of an Athens traffic problem than a Hotel problem

De metalen veren van het matras was te voelen. ik moest een dubbele dekbed erop leggen om enigzins te slapen. Hoewel ik aan de achterkant van het hotel een kamer had, kon ik de auto en motoren nog steeds horen. Het leek net alsof ze door mijn kamer reed. Verder is het hotel zeer gedateerd. Als hangt met plakband tap aan elkaar vast. Ik beveel dit hotel absoluut niet aan. En dat voor 90 euro per nacht in het laag seizoen.

Decent hotel. Walls are paper thin

During my stay at Ares Athens Hotel, the cleaning staff took my personal towel from my luggage (much better quality than the old, worn-out ones they provide). I placed their used towels on one side of the room and my own towel on top of my suitcase, clearly separate. When I came back, my towel was gone. Reception staff admitted it was likely sent to laundry “by mistake,” but never took responsibility and refused to involve the manager. Later they denied everything and claimed I “probably lost it.” Completely unacceptable – my belongings were taken without consent. To make matters worse, the facilities were in terrible condition: dirty, worn-out towels, poorly maintained rooms, and unhelpful staff. I had to escalate this through Hotels.com, who finally refunded me as a gesture of goodwill – not the hotel. That says everything about how this property treats its guests. ⚠️ Be warned: what you save in price, you lose in safety, cleanliness, and peace of mind. I stayed here because I had no option but I thought it would be good but I was totally mistaken. Spend a little more and stay somewhere honest and professional.
