We have been staying at hotel Morales for the past 10 years. Love this hotel!

Very clean

We spent a week at the historic Hotel Morales Historical & Colonial Downtown Core. Based on the reviews, I thought it would be a great choice. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building, but be cautious about room location. We initially stayed on the third floor near a window, and at night we could clearly hear loud music from a nearby bar, as well as church bells early in the morning. The staff was very kind and moved us to the second floor, but unfortunately there was an unbearable sewage smell coming from the shower drain. We were told this can happen because the hotel is very old and related to the pipes. Once again, the staff accommodated us and moved us—this time to the first floor. The first-floor room had no odor and no noise, and was much more comfortable. I am always very careful with water in Mexico and used bottled water even to brush my teeth. However, after returning home, I developed a UTI, which I believe may have been related to the shower water. I can’t say this with certainty, but it’s worth mentioning for travelers who are sensitive. The rooms were clean, and the staff was exceptional throughout our stay. On our second night, my husband developed a fever, and the night attendant kindly went out to a store to bring us medicine — something we truly appreciated. We also had spa treatments at the hotel, and they were excellent — relaxing, professional, and a highlight of our stay. The restaurant in the hotel is very good as well. Final thoughts:

Beautiful hotel in a colonial building in downtown Guadalajara. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and the area feels safe. There is a heated pool on the roof and the staff are friendly. The hotel is close to main attractions and many restaurants. I would stay here again next time I visit Guadalajara.

The staff was amazing, very friendly, and accommodating. We had breakfast at the restaurant a couple of mornings. They had a great selection.

Attentive and friendly staff 24 hrs

From the second you walk in you’re greeted by the staff there. Everyone was super helpful and very nice. Room was exactly as shown in pictures. It was very clean and they also provided travel accessories you might need. Room was cleaned everyday which we loved. Breakfast was made fresh every morning. The hotel is also located downtown so it’s close to other restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely be booking again.
